Default Lap Frame Favorite - new Qstn

From: Ruthie

I have the habit of holding my stitches at slightly above breast level.
Is there a lap frame that will hold my stitching this high? ......

Again, I recommend the Gripit Sit-On-It frame. I must be the only person in
the whole world reading RCTN who uses a Gripit because no one else has posted
about it!!! It really IS superb and worth every penny! The frame will also
fold up fairly compactly *with* your needlework still attached.
The Gripit is also the only frame holder that you can see demonstrated at
CATS! The people who own the company are very strong supporters of CATS and
offer some *great* sales at the time!!! CiaoMeow ^;;^

I know we discussed it before, but the only reason I don't comment on the
Sit-On-It is because I've never figured out how to not pinch my fat thighs. I
love my Gripit Legend floor stand, but I never could make the Sit-On-It work
comfortably for me. I've gotten lots of use of Skyhook's String ... thing..
(sorry, can't remember the 'official' name). I don't use q-snaps so don't know
how you would make it work with them, though.

Tia Mary dear,

Will you quickly measure your Grip It, and tell me how far it is from
the oval piece to the clamp? I need it to be a minimum of 20 inches - I
just measured. More would be better.

Since I use scrolls, I don't like anything that clamps on the "top" of
my project, ie: on the fabric itself, but prefer to "grip" from the
side.

My GripIt holds scroll frames from the side. You can get them with either
attachment.
