Default OT - How DH's surgery went

I'm so tired, so will keep things short, and will give you details tomorrow. Surgery
itself went well, with only one very very minor snag. He had a hard time waking up
and dealing with the anesthesia, however, and couldn't keep any food or liquid down,
so he was admitted overnight for observation. He'll be fine, but we wanted to make
sure he didn't get dehydrated. I have to get up REALLY early in the morning to pick
him up, because a huge dignitary is visiting the hospital tomorrow, and parking will
be at a premium...nearly non existent after 7 am. SOooooooo.....I'll give you more
details tomorrow. Keep up those prayers and thoughts, though, that he is able to
sleep tonight, and able to keep from vomiting anymore. G'Night.

Glad that it all went okay. Chin up - it'll all be better soon. Know that
our love and thoughts are with you.

I have the same problem with anesthesia, I can definitely sympathize. They
have some pretty good anti-nausea medicine they can use if it doesn't clear
up. My best to you all, get some rest today!

So glad it is all over and he came through it. Anesthesia is a blessing and
a curse. My DH got terrible itching when he came out of anesthesia. A
little Benadryl in his drip and within 15 minutes he was better. Everyone
reacts differently. I hope he continues to improve. Hugs, Linda

Jalynne,

So glad to hear that the surgery is over and DH is doing fine. Bring him
home and relax. Put a quilt over him while he sleeps and be good to yourself
too.

Happy for your husband. God forbid that a patient and his family should
take precedence over a dignitary at a hospital!!! RedQueen

Gosh, that dignitary must be *really* big. I mean, gosh, I knew a guy who
weighed 600 lbs, and he didn't really take up more than one extra space when
he parked his car... (duckin' and runnin'!)

Hugs to you and your DH!

ROFLOL. Ok, now i can tell, since it's over already. The President was visiting the
hospital this morning, and they had closed most of the parking lots (except the ER
one). It was such a pain. I won't say one way or another what I think of the
President, because it's not gerund to the topic, but I personally think they should
still keep the patients the higher priority. All is fine now, however...he's home,
he's feeling MUCH better, and we're getting back to normal.
