waves virtual wand and sparkly-magic-calming-glitter settles over
Shirley

Good luck, sweetheart. I forget why you're going to the hospital, but
I'm sending calming vibes to you anyway.
love,
Linda

Here's a virtual one to start with then!

*waves beribboned and beaded wand with crystals, hearts and gold spangles*

Best of luck tomorrow, Shirley! I'll be thinking of you.

I don't particularly want to swap, but I'll gladly share pictures of one DW
made for my BeadWizard display

http://www.beadwizard.com/downloads/wand1.jpg
http://www.beadwizard.com/downloads/wand2.jpg

Thin brass rod, 18", brass bead soldered to the end as a stopper. Brass and
glass beads slipped over the rod. The big "jewel" is an acrylic piece, with
the pointy end where there was a horizontal hole cut off, then drilled to
slip over end of rod.

Now if I can figure out how to do all this over brass tube, so I can run
wire up to an LED inside the crystal......

I would answer your terminology questions, but I guess I never see them.
They may be buried in threads that I don't get to... that might explain
why you don't get answers; perhaps the right people aren't seeing the
questions. I don't think anyone thinks you're just supposed to "know".

Maybe I'm just on a lot of punt lists. :-P

And I think Sooz misunderstood the reason you posted that link; I got
the impression from her post that she thought you were suggesting that's
what the wands should be, rather than asking for clarification that yes,
this is what we mean by "wand".

Just so -- and because I had never posted a picture of the wand.

Me...just not in the very near term. If we're looking at closer to the
beginning of November to mail, I could do it.

We talked about this a while back and it seemed like a popular idea. And
I
saw it was mentioned the other day as well - so I say let's do it!!

Let me know if you are interested in participating. Once I get an idea of
how many are interested etc I'll set up the details.

Now put your beaded thinking caps on!!!

My first thought was a fairy princess type wand (star on a stick).

Your's is beautiful Arondelle, a REAL wand.

I am afraid to participate in a swap, what if my swapee get's something

he/she
thinks is lame...

Some folks here talk
about things of which I have no clue. Being a non-lampworker, I'm not
hip to all the jargon, and no one ever answers my jargon-related
questions. (I guess I'm just supposed to *know.*)

Just wanted to know what you guys mean when you say "wand." I know

what
I mean: a short, decorated, stick-like object used in Pagan rituals in
place of an athame (ritual knife). It might means something else
entirely to a non-Pagan. Maybe something esoteric/funky having to with
melted glass.

::shrugs:: I dunno me. If you don't want me to play, I'll go away.
