VERY, VERY OT A rant organ transplants/More sad news
In addition to losing my brother this morning.... we just got back from
a vet appointment. My beloved, precious 10 yr. old Golden Retriever, Missy, has a very aggressive, fast growing cancer in her gum area right under her nose. She may have a month or two left. I can't take much more today. Leslie Leslie & The Furbabies in MO. wrote: If you are in the State of Utah, in multi-system organ failure and on death's doorstep, you can be put into the #1 spot on the liver transplant list. If they have a liver of the correct size and correct tissue match and you are too ill to survive the transplant surgery they will tell you to wait a few days to try to get a bit stronger and then you can have that liver. If your kidneys start to produce a tiny bit of urine and you can stand at your bedside for a moment or two you are then "too healthy" to stay in the #1 spot on the transplant list. You get bumped to lower on the list and the liver is given to someone else. If your health declines again to death's doorstep, you can be moved back to the #1 spot to wait for another matching liver and hope you survive the wait and the transplant surgery. My brother did not survive the wait to get back into the #1 spot. Rest in peace, Brian. We love you. Leslie |

Say a few prayers, rest your soul, hug all the loved ones (two and four legged) within reach, and take a physical and mental day off. The troubles will still be there tomorrow, but you'll be better able to face them.
