At our local show last March, I found a wonderful striped fabric that
sat on my ironing board for a couple of months before I could decide
what to do with it. But decide I finally did -- whew! -- and I've now
started working on the project. The first block can be seen at
http://home.earthlink.net/~sfoster1/wips.html. Back to work now....

What a fun looking block! Your piecing is wonderful on all those little
half square triangles.

Now, are you sure you have enough fabric for this feathered star
project? ;-)

Wow! That's going to be great! Can't wait to see the rest of the blocks.
Do you use any special templates for your feathered star? I have the Marti
Michell ones, but haven't worked much with them.

Wow! Based on the first block, this is going to be gorgeous. And I'd say the
wait to decide was well worth it!

WOW -- gorgeous! Tell us the secret to those perfect little mini HST's? What size is the
block -- you mention only 4 for the quilt so they must be pretty good sized?

Can't wait to see the finished quilt!

Thanks, Kate. The blocks are 18.5" finished (odd size, isn't it? G),
and I'm using directions from Marsha McCloskey's book. I'd taken a class
from her just over a year ago, and I knew I wanted to make more
feathered stars.

Now I'm thinking about how I'll want to quilt this when I've finished
the top. g

Thanks! No templates at all -- just Marsha McCloskey's technique.
She's made a zillion feathered star variations and has developed a great
way to make them.
