Well I sort of felt foolish wearing all that bling until I thought about

the
look of pride and love my Pollock had when he gave it to me. Out of

respect
and love for him I adapted. I've always been a very natural hippy type -

No
make up, plain clothing, etc. Long as I was decently covered and clean I
didn't fuss too much. The Pollock said I was his empress and said I
deserved a little sparkle. I must trust that he was right.

My mom left me her big diamond ring because I was the only one that

liked
the style. Only thing is I don't wear rings, just my simple
wedding band. I have tried to wear that ring. The stone is big and
makes it awkward for me so it sits in the bank box. My fingers are
getting to the point the swelling makes wearing rings difficult anyway.
I wonder if I should give that ring to a sister or just hold it
for maybe one of my kids to use as a wedding ring. How do you
women wear a mess of jewelry and not have it get in the way?
It just doesn't work for my lifestyle : (

Yep Jo - when they had their 20%off sale before Christmas I stocked up on
blades and other bits'n'pieces in large quantities. With classes I go
through about 5 blades a week so I always buy the big packs.

I like to buy the 10 or 20 rotary cutter blade pack at Hancock's of
Paducah. That is the only thing I buy from them, most of the time, so
I always have a blade when I need a change. I do have a sharpener,
and I will sharpen a blade once, then use it on something like fleece
and then it goes into an different, marked canister, that is where the
dead blades in my house live.
If you have a box of 20 waiting for you, it's easier to change the
blade when it needs it. It really makes a difference.

Snigs, I agree with you about wearing the jewelry. My Aunt Jesse said that
the older a lady's hands become, the more diamonds she should wear. She
did. I do. It was her theory that people will be so agog at the jewelry
that they'll never notice the swelling and spots. Have you found a way to
decorate elbows? Mine sure could use something. Polly

So far I just put some heavy duty lotion on the elbows. I think your Aunt

Best advice I got from a 'bad Dr' was to: mix Eucerin creme (NOT lotion)
with Hydrocortisone creme (Dr prescription strength) 50/50. Takes care of
rough patches better than anything on the market. 1 jar and 1 prescription
lasted me a year--just got another refill.and DH found a BIG jar of the
creme so that should last 2 years! No slathering it on either, just put it
on sparingly.....nice soft skin: elbows, heels, etc and you do not have to
put a pair of socks/ gloves on over it either ; )

I carry a little container of Eucerin in my purse all the time. That's just
a good all around creme for anything and cost practically nothing. Because
of my impaired immune system I wash my hands with soap a lot and during
winter my hands can really get dry and cracked but the eucerin takes real
good care of that.

Vanicream is another good hand cream and can be tolerated by most
people, even those with allergies and sensitive skin. It's made right
here in Minnesota, too
