Thanks ya'll. You are all so encouraging. I had never done a stack and
whack, but I am already looking at material for another one!

I have to finish something before I can start something new!! I made that
commitment about two months ago... what was I thinking?!?!?!?!?!?

What a beautiful quilt! I have yet to take that class, but really want to.
The fabric bowl is terrific and I love anything chocolate. Where did you
find that fabric? Linda

Fun quilt! And I love the Two Step label. And the chocolate fabric bowl.
Nice going!

I guess I am talking to myself. The 'new' finished quilt is Two-step
memories.

And I forgot to tell you about the chocolate fabric bowl in my sewing room
album. (if you are interested!!)

the lqs had it in February for Valentine's Day. I had no idea what I was
going to use it for, but I knew if I didn't get some then... it would be
gone when I decided.

I loved your courthouse steps, Tricia! BTW, I've also been trying to
sprout avocado seeds. Back home it always worked - 3 toothpicks holding
them over a container of water would do it. Nothing works here though!
One thing, they takes years, like 10, to give fruit.... )

Thanks, I loved making that quilt but I was really happy when it was
finished.

************************** The rest of this is OT for those who don't want
to read further.

I really don't have anything to do with the avocado trees. But, they are
nice plants with pretty leaves even if they never make fruit.

He sprouted them the "old-fashioned Vacation Bible school bean way" He
cleaned all the fruit off the pit with warm water, wrapped it in very moist
paper towels, put it in a ziplock bag, threw it under the sink, and ignored
it for a week. When he opened it, they had broken open with the twig
started, then he planted it with half the seed showing, twig standing up. A
couple of them are 2.5 feet tall now. He did the research and it definitely
is his hobby. I ignore them.

It might also be the South Texas climate.

Now ********** slightly back on topic********* Those large containers the
'trees' are in were about $4 apiece. He made the comment "This is an
expensive hobby!" when he had to buy four of them!!! I guess he has no idea
how much a yard of fabric is!!!!!!!!

That is funny about the price of the containers. Maybe he was thinking
about the price of the soil? ). I might try the moist paper towels in
a zip bag method with the next batch.... I assume the weather in
Southern Texas must be very different from that in the Pacific
Northwest... )
