LOL, our little helpers sure make our lives more interesting to say the
least! Meg hasnt learned how to turn the flywheel... (I think thats what its
called too) but when I get up from working she likes opening all the access
doors on the machine and pulls the spool of thread off... then runs through
the house trailing thread behind her..
Yep.. I understand why you arent quite done yet. I can hardly wait to see
the finished quilt!! You pick such fun themes, and execute them in such
unique ways.

It went really well yesterday. I'm still amazed at how fast MQing can be
done! I started (over the weekend) with an on-point grid, but then had the
idea to do a giant spider web design. So, I un-quilted the small amount I
had done, changed to a silvery-looking rayon and started in on the radial
spokes with the walking foot. I used DH's big 3' level to mark the lines.
Then, I changed to a silver-to-black variegated thread (I was almost out
of
the first thread), and started on the loopy bits. Towards the end of the
quilting session, Giles and Spike started inspecting. They love to see
their
faces reflected in the shiny metal of the fly wheel (is that what you call
the round bit that turns as you sew? the part you turn by hand to raise
the
needle?). Giles discovered the foot pedal and "helped" with that part,
too.
But her favorite part was turning the flywheel when I stopped sewing to
readjust the quilt. I think she just liked hearing me yell everytime she
pulled the needle out of the pivot point!
Now you know why it didn't get finished quilting yesterday.
