Spring Inspirations?

Hi everyone:
With the weather beginning to warm up here in New Hampshire and
anticipating the gorgeous spring colors to follow, I am itching to
create a new wall quilt featuring spring colors. Yellow, purple and
green are on the top of my list, but I am also wondering what color
combinations make others think of spring.
So, what does spring look like to you?
All the best,
Carol

Pink, lots of pink! Pink and green - at least that's what I'm doing!

Good colors though! I love the yellow and purple too! All of it has
to have green!

Spring beauties, trilliums, crocuses and wood violets. Black flies,
early morning frost, fresh dug earth and the smell of honey wagons. Long
walks in the woods with buds on the trees and only a hint of green
anywhere. No need for a coat, but hat and gloves. Losing a kite in trees
behind the football stadium. Fervently planting seeds and hope.

But spring isn't my favorite season.

Spring is a rainbow to me! Wow, every color imaginable! Purple,
white, pink, and yellow pansie faces - tulips in red and pink and
purple - hyacinths coming up - my lilies in white and yellow and these
gorgeous shades of oranges, peaches and yellows! Big blue and violet
irises! This past week I have had gerbera daisies in my front porch
pot blooming in bright orange and yellow! And the greens, WOW, bright
yellow green as the oak starts putting out new growth, a deeper, richer
green in the stems of the narcissus, the kelly green stems of the
irises and lilies - the dark, rich green of the pansy plants.

The robins are here, the robins are here announcing the arrival of
spring! The busy little announcers in their rusty red vests with their
delicate white eye-liner! The cardinals and the jays are shouting
their joy of spring in bright, screaming red and deep, ocean blue.

And the sky! It was absolutely breathtaking this weekend without a
cloud one! It was windswept blues in shades ranging from teal to royal
and in the evening sunsets it was lavender, pink, purple, orange, peach
and baby blue.

Spring is just a rainbow of color to me, that's for sure! For me,
winter is all about grey and brown and earth tones so I delight when
the rainbow comes back and announces all new beginnings!

Charis and shalom!
Tina

Hi Carol,
I agree with you - yellow for daffodils, green for all the new growth and
lavendar for the lilac and hyacinth!

Hey Georg, I don't know what you mean by honey wagons but I don't think what
we refer to as honey wagons as a sign of Spring.
What is your definition for a honey wagon?

Howdy!
Spring--that would be that 2 week period we went thru' mid-March;
from here on we're heading into summer. g

Blue & yellow, that says Spring to me.
Of course, blue & yellow makes green-- perfect!
Also, the current Kaffe Fassett collections make for a blooming good spring.

Ragmop/Sandy--remembering when Carol was at the Arlington Texas guild
in July, a couple of years ago... oy! July in Texas!!!

My remembrance of honey wagons is definitely spring - gotta fertilize
those fields! But it has been so long ago, I had almost forgotten
about them! Been a long time since I've lived on a farm!
