Parachute 'silk'
 
I am seeking a source for very inexpensive parachute 'silk'. I am not real
particular as to color, more seeking inexpensive artificial fiber 'silk' for
near water tight tent walls.

Modern parachutes are largely made from silicone coated ripstop nylon,
which works for your application, as well. I've bought from he

Going to send you over here for a number of sources of "outdoor fabrics".
http://www.specialtyoutdoors.com/tips/sources.asp I'm guessing you want
silicone treated ripstop nylon, but I'd still put a rainfly over it.
