Why I needed new rotary cutter--check yours! by
Kathy in CA
I use the 65mm Fiskars rortary cutter and I've been having problems with the
first one so bought a new one. The problems with the old one was that it was
not fully retracting and not extending out far enough to cut properly.
REASON?? (1) The bolt was sliced nearly half way by the blade over the...

Dawn in Alberta
It has been a ling time since I have last posted here. Life sure does have a
funny way of interfering with talking with you all. Hugs prayers and good
thoughts are going to those who need them.
I haven't been doing much quilting as of late, work has me making other
things, that take up space in the...

OT Running of the Llamas by
Diana Curtis
Where else but in small town USA will they shut down main street to allow a
race between about a dozen llamas? Its a nice excuse to have a beer, get
the kids face painted and meet up with friends in the middle of the street.
Im glad you told me about it, Betty. Its sort of like how folks in...

Camp Sunshine Donations by
Dannielle
Hi guys,
I received this from a friend of mine who happens to be a social worker in a
pediatric oncology hospital. Camp Sunshine is, according to my friend, one
of the nicest retreats there is from doctors, nurses, radiation and
chemotherapy.
If anyone is interested in donating anything to this...

Canfield Fair Quilts by
DJDREVNA
I went to the Canfield Fair in Ohio yesterday. I was surprised at the number of
quiltes that were appliqued with the raw edges out not turned under. Some were
stitched close to the edge with a zig zag stitch. Others weren't stitch close
to the edge at all. There were some beautiful quilts there...

Group members who TORMENT the rest of us by
Marcella Tracy Peek
Ok, I know there's been a bit of low level crabbing about the group
lately. I hate to add to it all...BUT....we were all tempted with a
meet up in Washington. We heard it was going to happen. We wished we
could be there. We heard it DID happen.
and NOBODY is telling us what happened!!!!

New quilter on the way! by
Kate Dicey
James raided my stash today... Chose two sets of fabric for two
different quilts! He wants to make a crazy quilt for a mad auntie (My
Little Sis - the one I did the beaded dress for at Christmas), and one
for her hubby, to go with the two I have planned for my nephews and
haven't got to yet...

M&M fabric? by
Shirley Ellen
Does anyone know where I could get M&M novelty fabric aside from eBay? I'm
going to bid on some FQ's today but I was hoping to be able to find a larger
amount (like 2+ yards) to use for the back of the quilt. I saw one that was
perfect on eBay but she wanted $24.98 for a FQ!!! I know it's...

Tried Insul-Bright from Warm Co. by
Susan Laity Price
In my on-going project of making small items for the bazaar I wanted
to make trivets. I had read about a new heat resistant batting from
Warm Company called Insul-Bright. I must say right now that I am not
in anyway connected with the company. I just found it to be a
wonderful product.
It is 22.5"...

small quilt need to make bigger by
DJDREVNA
I am a brand new quilter. Well, I wouldn't even say I am a quilter yet. I have
only made handful of blocks. I won a quilt at my family reunion that my aunt
made. It is from the printed fabric that looks like it is pieced but it isn't.
She then put the batting and the backing on it and quilted it...

Quilting Flannel "Batt"? by
dogmom
Thanks to y'all's very helpful suggestions, I've bought flannel to use as
the batt for my MIL's quilt since a regular batt is too hot for her (this
may be too, but it's worth a try.) How close do I need to quilt it? She
doesn't (at least, not that she'll admit to) jump on her bed a lot, but...

My neighbor and I are off in a few hours for a nice adventure. We are going

been to the SDQS so this should be fun. The train will take us a little over
an hour to get there, had I driven it probably would take us until...

Should I buy a Singer Quantum 9940? by
Blimey
I've been doing some research on which sewing machine to buy my wife
for her bday that is coming up. If I had the money I'd buy a top of
the line Bernina but those cost a bit more than I can afford... ok,
quite a bit more. I'm hoping to get her something that has all of the
features she's going to...
