a wild idea for Hug blocks by
Queen of Squishies
I have a wild and crazy idea. What if all the huggers on the hug list were
to go to the same web site and buy the same 6 1/2" square ruler as I have?
................ nahhhh............... Life might get boring if we get too
much uniformity going on! LOL
(but if you're interested, I will...

OT Prayer Please - Over The Top by
NanaV
Dear Everyone,
I'm sure I've been wearing out your knees with my requests lately but....
My DD had a miscarriage last Wednesday. She required a D and C and she bled
seriously. They have been pumping blood into her like crazy and her blood
pressure is still dangerously low, her heart rate...

A thread thread... by
Volfie, Owner, GizzMutt Stables
Just thought I'd mention this for what it is worth...
Yesterday, as I was finishing up some UFOs (three done so far!) I needed to
use an spool of thread that I know I've had for at least five years, maybe
as many as eight years, without ever using it before. It's a Coats & Clark
spool and I'm not...

Happy Top Dancing! by
frood
Woo Hoo! Miss Fussy Rose's quilt top is done! Pink Elephants on Parade is
now awaiting backing fabric, to be picked out by Miss Fussy Rose herself.
I'm planning a bright binding for it when the quilting is done.
So, join Miss Fussy Rose and I, along with the regular Happy Dancers, Spike
and Giles,...

OT your favorite Spam? by
Polly Esther
I keep getting offers of a $400,000 home with a fixed rate interest. If
they were really bright, they would offer me a lifetime guarantee contract
for someone to come keep it clean. (Muddy gator tracks and such, you know).
What is your most ridiculous Spam offer? Polly

How many black people can quilt? by
The Laws
I'm sure you are not a quilter because you can't even chuck your spear Kay

I wonder if black people can quilt or if they are too dumb for anything
over
the spear-chucking level.

Best Deal site by
Shopper
The best one I have found so far is www.whatsyourdeal.com
It's easy to use and they have great deals posted and all the latest
dollar and percent off coupons. I saved a ton last year buying the
stuff I would have normally bought.

Back to Basics Quilting 101 by
Diana Curtis
Does everyone have a favorite method for squaring up blocks and subunits to
the right size? Do you have problems with them turning into parallelagrams,
or having the center off center?
I have these questions so Im guessing others might too. Having never had a
class or seen a book with instructions...

bias bars by
Julia Altshuler
I am about to buy a set of bias bars. Those are the doohickeys that you
slide into bias tape so the seam ends up on the back and the whole thing
can be ironed easily. I've was convinced I need them by someone on
Simply Quilts. They're made by different manufacturers. Is one better
than another?...

Country Quilt? by
Nurse Ratched
I have been asked to consider making a quilt for a recipient (who is not the
requester) whose decorating taste has been described as "country/rustic". I
don't care for or produce the kind of quilts that come to mind when someone
describes their decor as "country". Anyone have any suggestions? ...

A few new pics. by

If you have having a slow Friday, you can look at a couple new pictures I've
added to my Webshots album. I made a quilt for good friends who invited DH
and I up to their lake home in Minnesota. I'd had this pattern for years
and decided this would be the perfect opportunity to make it. I didn't...

I'm murdering DH tomorrow by
MoragP
I had planned to go to the AQS show in Paducah, Kentucky in April 2005.
When I told my DH I was going to make the hotel reservation right away, he
poo-poohed the idea saying I was much too early!
I'm having a public strangulation party for him tomorrow. Every hotel in
Paducah is already full....

Apparently I have nothing better to do... by
joysjane
Okay, I asked about washing fabric a few weeks ago. I started washing and
then realized that I would have to do it all, because I couldn't make a
quilt with some washed and some unwashed fabric. So, I started to wash it
all and wash and iron and wash and iron and ... well you know ... I...

OT any tatting snobs here? by
Polly Esther
I have a precious, dear, elderly tatting fiend on my Christmas gift list. It
would just be wonderful to give her some exquisite thread for her beloved
tatting - but I don't know exquisite from kite string. She's 87 so I don't
imagine that we want the trigger-hair finest as in...

Selling a house by

Hi Group, Ok, I feel I can vent here. Yesterday I had a Realtor come to
look at my house because we will be selling this spring and downsizing our
quarters. Mind you I will have a bigger sewing room in the new house. After
all, I have my priorities. To those who know me, you are wondering, yes...
