things you avoid in quilting by Taria
It is interesting to see that so many are scared by zipper applications. What are the things in quilting you try to avoid because your don't do them well or don't like having to do them. Figuring out borders and creating the quilting designs for them makes me a little bonkers. How about you? TAria

Totally OT Movies you can't pass up by KJ
I'm watching "Sweet Home Alabama" AGAIN! it seems like I can't pass up this movie whenever it's on. It's cute, the music is fun, the characters are a hoot and I love looking at Josh Lucas. Geez, maybe I should have put this under "Perve on Blokes" message. Do you have any movies you just have...

2007 Resolution Quilty Projects by Kate G.
Okay... I'll be the first to ask... What are your top 3 projects (quilty related -- not necessarily sewing -- could be reorganizing sewing room, putting all your books in a spreadsheet...) that you are determined to complete this year. Mine? 1) A quilt for my mother-in-law 2) Snowball quilt

Malvern is just a month away by Krysia Thompson
ezzzactly. so - the perennial question - who is going and when. I DO hope the weather will be better than last year - I came and went in one day spending probably equal amounts of time at the show and in the car - left home at 5 am I think and got home at 10 or 11 pm.....damp and tired. this year...

OT just QI nonsense by Polly Esther
I know it will be hard for you city folks to imagine but here in the remote swamp, everybody talks to everybody. We talk to the grocery store checker and whoever's next in line. We invite a person in a hurry to come on ahead while we visit. We admire the beautiful babies and plan supper...

Sad update by KJ
The chapter has ended with my dad's situation. He passed away this afternoon. I'm very thankful he didn't have to suffer with pain and disability any longer than he did. He had less than two months of hospitalization and struggle. In the big picture, that's not too bad. He was one of the...

quilting environment discussion by Karen, Queen of Squishies
When you are working on a quilt, do you like the house to be quiet? Or do you like listening to music? Or a talk show? Books on CD? Or have a movie on? What is your best environment for working? Karen, Queen of Squishies --

o/t she's here! by Morag in Oxford
Hi ladies, Well as predicted the baby messed up plans for an anniversary dinner by deciding to arrive yesterday afternoon (25th). Very quick labour - less than 3 hours start to finish - so quick that I only had time for the gas and air, not any of the harder stuff! We have named her Iona, and she...

o/t breastfeeding counsellor by Morag in Oxford
Evening ladies, I've been thinking about it for a long time, and have decided to train as a breastfeeding/nursing counsellor with an organisation based here in the UK. I have to pay for my own training (it's not a lot) but I think it will open a lot of doors in the future and I see a huge need...

OT - Demographics by LN \(remove NOSPAM\)
I didn't write these! But some are pretty funny. You Live in California when... 1. You make over $250,000 and you still can't afford to buy a house. 2. The high school quarterback calls a time-out to answer his cell phone. 3. The fastest part of your commute is going down your driveway. 4. You...

OT Where I've been (long) by NightMist
Well, as y'all have probably figured out by now, it never just rains at my house, it pours. If things are going to happen here, they happen all at once. I believe I mentioned briefly that I was sick for a bit. Another week of fever (103-105 F) to leave me dried out and wobbly. I've no idea why...
