How to make Paper earrings by
Deb
Want to know how to make paper earrings in various shapes with glaze.
I've seen paper earrings and hair barretts made from paper and they
were beautiful. They had a very hard, clear glaze. Some earrrings
were folded like miniature fans and glazed. There was a multitude of
paper designs from...

Pickle by
Kendall Davies
Further to the string of some weeks ago about pickling agents, I have just
tested 'Cillit Bang' as a pickle and it removes oxidation in a few minutes
at room temp. I have not tried it on flux yet. It seems to be a new product
here in UK so is probably available in most Supermarket stores. The...

"transforming" a chain by
m4816k
I have a curb chain that I think is a bit too long. I came up with an idea
of transforming it in a singapore chain, cause I'd like it to keep the
weight and a similar "link" look, with a minimum work done on it (so I don't
want to just shorten it). Is that possible to do (and is it...

Emrerald Cut by
Jack Schmidling
I finally found an emerald simulant I really like and cut my first stone
with it. Yag is the stuff. The color is beautiful and the RI produces a
nearly windowless stone.
All my emerald cuts to date have been mounted in EasyMount settings which
never seem to fit right.
I would like to put one...

My luck runnith out by
Jack Schmidling
Seems like my wife is not meant to have a silver fork like mine.
The first one developed a fracture in the shank and eventually failed. The
second one ditto on one of the tines and it just fell off when I tried to
solder it.
I suspect the problem is the hodgepodge metal I used so I am now...

Thanks very much!

Heavy custume Jewelry by
Rick Holden
I would like to get some plated gold jewelry, but everything I have
found is very light. I would like to try and pass it off as real, but
as soon as someone picks it up they can tell right away that its
plated. Does anyone know where I can get gold plated jewelry that
weighs about the same as solid...

colored acrylic glue by
Gary DeWitt
Way back in the 60's I can remember making a ring out of layered clear
acrylic plastic and colored glue. The glue was slow enough setting to
allow proper lamination, and you could still see through it
(translucent, not opaque).
Much more recently (this year) I have seen plastic sculpture made...

Casting/bulding up "acrylic resin" ? by
Jim Meier
Hi folks!
For a while now I've wanted to make some simple little shapes out of
plastic, and some google searches have turned up the idea of using an
'acrylic resin' (or other sort of plastic resin)
My problem is, I can't find anywhere to purchase the stuff. Most things
I've read say to find it at...

clasp by
m4816k
I'm looking for a new clasp for my 14k men's curb bracelet and have a
dilema. The last one was a lobster clasp, and didn't last very long,
eventhough I was rarely taking the bracelet off. Speaking of which - one of
the reasons it was mostly on, was that it was a bit of a problem to take it
off...
