Christmas Wish List by
Tina
Well, now that Frank has started the "what to get for the quilter who
has everything" list....
And Polly has started the "books for quilters" wish list.....
I'm wondering, what do YOU want for Christmas?
Being new as I am, I have asked for new cutting mats, QuiltPro
software, a standing floor...

RCTQ Directory question by
AliceW in NJ
Since it is getting time to revise the Directory and since we have had
issues with how addresses are displayed and entered into the form, I
have a query for all of you who care to respond.
How many lines would I need to use on an envelope if I were sending you
a squishie?
Please respond with your...

guild show and tll tiqutt by
DrQuilter
is it OK to show a top in your guild's show and tell or do you guys
limit yourselves to completed quilts? I am not too shy, but I haven't
gathered the courage to do SNT yet... maybe now that I was voted evening
secretary (though of course they misspronounced my last name!) I will
finally dare -...

OT My Week by
joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska
Like life, way high and way low.
Last Friday I flew from Bellevue NE to Paducah KY to visit with my Mom
on the occasion of her 86th birthday (10/9). I stayed in the guest
room of her senior apartment building and had my usual great time. We
did some shopping for her, visiting the Quilt Museum...

crazy quilt thoughts by
polly esther
The bin where I've been putting special scaps for a 'one day' crazy quilt
has gotten where it's about to explode. Either I buy another bin or I get
started on a crazy quilt. I like the look of a whole quilt rather than one
made in blocks. What I can't figure out is how to do fun embroidery on...

new quilt and sewing room pics. by
fixedgearhead
I thought it was about time to post some pics of one of my latest
projects. A Nine Patch quilt that I just completed for our bedroom. I
have only sewn clothes for ever, and this is my first serious quilt. I
am quite happy with it and it has inspired me to try another one in a
Falling Block pattern....

OT I need a crochet buddy by
polly esther
My shelter has asked for booties for preemies. Most of the patterns I've
found are either big enough for a 30 pound baby or they are ugly or they
have seams that I think could be uncomfortable to preemie baby wee little
feet. I've experimented with the project of creating a pattern that is...

finished baby quilt by
Sandy
We have four DGSs, ranging in age from 2.5 to 8 years old. Our elder DD
is now expecting our first DGD, who is to be born in May. :) Years ago,
I purchased fabrics for a feminine baby quilt and then never had
occasion to use them. As soon as we learned of the impending addition to
the family, I...

Sewing with DGS#1 :) by
Sandy Foster
Yesterday my eldest DGS (aged 7 this past January) came over for the
first day of spring break to do some sewing with me. It was a first. G
He'd been fascinated with my old Singer 99 handcrank, so last Friday I'd
had him "sewing" on lined paper (without thread) to practice going
straight.
So...

OT - QI Merlot update by
Sharon Harper
It is with much much sadness I have to thank you all for your prayers, good
wishes and thoughts over the past week but we have just laid Magnificent
Merlot to rest in the backyard in his favourite sunny spot. We found him in
the yard of the neighbour who last saw him, well the neighbour did. ...

Shipping by
teleflora
Ok, it's really starting to bug me. I know that the price of everything is
going up, but explain to me why shipping a CD to me should cost a company
$7.98? I would rather the CD cost me $8 more than to feel like I'm getting
ripped off like this. I emailed them and said I could DRIVE to Kansas...

sewing room "messy disease" by
Musicmaker
I have a suggestion for all those who have a messy sewing room that
they can't manage to completely clean up. Get a puppy and put her cage
and food dishes in the sewing room. The damage that she does will be a
HUGE motivation to PICK UP!!!!!

Avalanche! by

I was rootling the stash this afternoon, for some WOW and pinks for block
samples, and for some Margaritaville swap squares... when an avalanche hit!
See? I told you I needed a new system for storing stash. Ok so the current
plan is to pull everything off the shelves, re-fold and sort, and see...

Diving Quilt by

Newbie male here from the UK.
Just about finished a SCUBA diving quilt under the instruction of my lady
wife. When I started neither of us believed that I would actually complete
it but I have. :-)) The quilt is an expression of my love of diving and my
visits to the Red Sea, Egypt.
Quilt will be...
