Hi again by
DrQuilter[_2_]
Hey guys, it is Marissa, or Dr.Quilter. I am back! Got a new laptop
(through my new job) and requested my login info from the newsserver..
Not too many news, Sofi is 3 and a half, we are still in the Seattle
area, well, I got the new job, and I am quite involved in guilds (this

QI saftey by
Charlotte Hippen
I am curious how you all keep your 'helpful' QI's safe in your sewing area.
Until now, I have not had to worry about it. My Darius kitty had decided at
the start he will only worry about checking the final project for comfort
because it is too much work to help with the rest of it, unless you...

OT teach me a word by
Polly Esther
Last year I learned bling and blog with your help. This week I've
discovered skew. For reasons totally obscure to my old brain, 'skew' is
what you want when you're trying to figure out how to reduce or make
smaller. At least that's how Windows, in its infinite wisdom, uses the
word.
Now....

OT Big Bird emergencies by
Polly Esther[_2_]
I had to go find my Julia Child book on the Way to Cook. We hadn't been
able to find a turkey the right size until yesterday and it is frozen harder
than . . . well, you know.
And so - if you just must thaw a turkey quickly, Miss Julia says to
submerge the well-wrapped bird in a sink full...

VERY, VERY OT Potatoes!!! by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Yesterday was gorgeous- 77 degrees and a blue sky with some pretty puffy
clouds. I spent all afternoon cleaning my truck- hand washed and dried,
vacuumed, glass all cleaned, chrome polished, inside reorganized... you get
the picture. So today is thunderstorms- tons of rain for the past 24 hrs....

Batiks Plus, and a question by
Karen, Queen of Squishies
Lovely, lovely, lovely! It's been a long dry spell, but I am ironing a
bunch of new batiks I just bought from Batiks Plus. They got here so fast!
But all my yards are 38 inches. When did they start that? Their web site
still proclaims to be the home of the 40 inch yard. Now, they did throw...

OT one more new word by
Polly Esther[_2_]
You've taught me about bling (yes) and blog (ho-hum). Now we old folks
need to understand another word. Mississippi has been beseiged, invaded,
insulted and pandered to by presidential candidates. All of you have been
very kind to refrain from mentioning your political positions - for which...

okay, help me spend my money by
Karen, Queen of Squishies
I need a fabric with something that starts with "Q" printed on it. Not
quarters, because that could be called coins. Not quilty supplies, because
that could be called sewing. See why I need help searching something out!?

Quick and easy! :D by
Sandy
When I was in Flagstaff for camp last month, I saw some adorable little
cell phone cases at the LQS there. The pattern was *almost* ready to be
printed, and I had them send me one when it was finished. Today I've
made three of these little things -- each one only takes a very little
time to...

yet another question by
off kilter quilter
OKay, fellow quilters,
I've got another one for you.....when you have several projects - none
of which actually has a concrete deadline (ie: baby quilt for shower in
late august/early september, but no real date), how do you work your way
through them??
I am working on the top for the baby quilt...

My first Blue Ribbon First Prize! by
Bronnie
My "Dancing Lights in Indigo Night" Quilt has won 1st prize in its
category at a show in regional NSW. I was absolutely stunned to get
the news this morning when the quilt was returned by mail (I couldnt
get to the show) with the award and nice cheque for A$100.
This is my first ever 1st prize in...

What do you think about......? by
AliceW in NJ
Using a Yahoo group for collecting all our "stuff" in one place? I was
just posting a message on one of the Yahoo groups I moderate and I
looked at all the extras that are included with a group. There is a
database, an address book, a recipe file, a blank template that can be
used for other kinds...

Lesson learned the hard way... by
[email protected]
After finding this group and joining up, (with a great welcome, thank
you all!), I decided to do as a few of you asked and get pictures of my
previous quilts to post. After a week of phone calls and emails, I'm
officially in mourning. Every single quilt that I've made and given
away no longer...

prayers please by

This time it's personal. I had an accident tonight and am a bit sore
from it. I didn't go the hospital becasue there was no way for Ken to
get there with the children - DDs carseat was in the van. Bambi
decided to cross the road out of the blue....I didn't even see the deer
until it had already...

Focus on Design: Attic Windows by
Pat in Virginia
"Focus on Design" is a once in a while feature that I
post here to open discussion about a specific quilt
block or style. This is not the place to discuss
chocolate, nor kids, nor snow ... though those are okay
in other, off topic, discussions. In this thread, let's
talk about Attic Windows...

Name this quilt by
Pat in Virginia
Okay, so the quilt is not yet made, but I need the name
ASAP. Why? Because the Challenge Chairman needs to
start making the display cards, etc. The quilt will
feature shoes. I would love to come up with a fun title
for the quilt ... maybe a song, or maybe a play on
words, or maybe a pun....

Rejoining the group by

After being without ng access for what seems like forever, I've
decided to just use Google for a while. Seems like it's easier now
than I remember from before. I've missed you guys a lot, and now
maybe I can keep up (sorta).
