working treadle! and as the price was right - 15 euros I bought it
It's a Pfaff 30 treadle and it even still had the instruction book with...

Hi,
I just found this group. I started quilting about 4 years ago. I have
some health issues and there are a lot of days when all I can do is
look at my fabric (I do have a lovely stash :) ). But I am anxious to
learn more. I love applique, am learning machine embroidery --
including stippling as...

Did you ever have one of those moments where you just slap YOURSELF upside
the head??
I am doing a paper pieced name. I came across this darling site that had
the alphabet made for you. I printed out the blocks I needed, made 3 of the
letters before it dawned on me that I should have mirror...

New Toy/Business Happy Dance!!! by
Charlotte Hippen
Congrats!! Happy dancing for you. That is my dream too, and for pretty
much the same reasons you listed (home with the kids, fun to do and bring in
some money too). I don't currently have the room however (I just finally
found a place to squeeze my sewing machine in that wasn't the closet),...

A new swapper request - and Teri question by
Tina
Dear RCTQ Friends:
My wonderful DS, Billy, whom you have all seen me talk about here
before since he is my "sewing buddy" has asked me for a favor. This
evening, he is working on Crazy Patches and came to ask me if I would
ask my friends on my quilt group if they would "swap" with him. He
would...

Virtual Quilting - Round Robin results by
quilter
Just thought some of you might like to see the results of the first few
virtual quilts from the round robin. Participants have a week or two
more to finish, but Jeanne (nzlstar) and Cheryl (of Oz) and I jumped
the gun a little. Cheryl (or Jeanne?) set up a webshots album today so
we could share...

Queen of Squishies
Why does the Rowenta book say NOT to use distilled water in the iron? That
doesn't make any sense to me.

Hey Everyone:
After 38 days away from home because of the hurricanes I am finally
back on line. I now have electricity, phone and water. I arrived home
last Sunday and couldn't get the electric on till Tuesday. I had to
live in my van. Thank goodness for the cool front that came through.
Now I...

Note to self... by
Heather Michna
Never sign your daughter's homework with your disappearing ink quilt marking
pen.
She had a heckuva time explaining to her teacher that I really *had* signed
it. I got a phone call from the teacher on Friday asking me if this really
happened, or if my daughter was not telling the truth.

Always ignored them before, 'cause "Why on earth would you make a fish

OT sad... got the coroner's report for my brother by
Marijke
Just when you think you're starting to feel better, you get punched in
the stomach.
My 35-yr-old brother died in February. For various reasons, I'm
responsible for everything from arranging his funeral to tying up loose
ends. He left behind two boys (now 12 and 7).
Anyway, I very unexpectedly...

Denim Jeans Quilts by
Pat in Virginia
Hi!
In sorting out the closets and nooks and crannies, I've learned
that I have stock piled quite a few old jeans 'to make a jeans
quilt when I get a round tuit.' So, it is time to get started on
this ... those jeans take up way too much room. I started cutting
some squares. I got a whole bunch of...

Hello everyone! by

I've been a tad out of touch. Life has just gotten busy with school and
all. I do pop in once in a while to read about all the wonderful projects
you've been working on and to catch up on news.
The summer flew by, however I did manage to contribute to a couple of hug
projects, although not as...

I have a small wallhanging almost done (a Christmas gift for Susan, The
