mastectomy on Friday by
pami
I just read the posts under breast cancer/OT and I can't thank you for the
support. Today my husband and I went to see the surgeon. We layed all the
cards out...this cancer is very agreesive. I did mention to him I worked in
at a very popular manufacturing plant years ago and it's still in...

Downsized some stash... by
~KK in BC~
and not because I wanted to or had planned on it.
Why is it when you think things may finally take a turn for the good
something else happens to mess it up?
I spent most of today (Sunday) with a mop, a bucket, some rubber gloves,
some garbage bags and a whole lot of bleach. Yup. Sewer backed up....

A few days ago Val posted a funny about Age Activated Attention Deficit
Disorder. Like most of y'all I read it, laughed and forgot about it.
Then, today, it happened to me.....
Yesterday I realized I needed a lap quilt finished by this weekend.
Yikes! I emailed Pat on her hill about it and she...

quilting humor - new thread by
quilter
As I have just sewed a row for the third time and have it come out
exactly the same (5 mismatched points in a row), I thought I would
start a new humor topic/question for all of those must-be-perfect
projects...
How do you hide your mismatched points?
Here are my contributions:
1. Applique right...

Happy dance :) by
Sandy Foster
Right before DH and I left on our cruise, I finished a quilt I'd been
working on. I used 100-wt. silk thread for most of the quilting, and I
really like this stuff! It melts right into the fabric for a subtle
effect. I also used some metallic thread to quilt over the metallic
accents in the...

Antique quilts quilted on long arm machine, sad story by
Susan Laity Price
A local charity just asked me to look at a group of antique quilts
that were donated for a fund raiser. Everyone of them had been quilted
since 2000 on a long arm machine. The backs are mostly from JoAnn's.
Some bindings do not coordinate with the quilt tops. The tops vary in
quality but most are...

A little OT Finished something - but oh dear! by
Cats
Well I have finally finished something. But oh dear -
it's one of those
"I-can't-believe-I-ever-started-something-like-this-in-the-first-place"
things.
MANY years ago when I was primarily into embroidery I was
facinated by Assisi and Blackwork. In order to practise I
made up a pattern that...

OT - stolen mail by
Hanne Gottliebsen
This really is totally off topic:
I'm furious - I use a loyalty card at the local supermarket (Tesco). It
gives me points and 4 times a year vouchers are sent out based on number
of points earned.
Well, in May my envelope did not arrive. I called them and they
transferred the points back in...

Am I invisible? by
KI Graham
Or just being ignored?
I was hoping for some feedback about sending quilts to be part of a museum
display, but got no response. I'm trying again before I slink back to my
corner...
I've been asked to submit some quilts to a museum wishing to mount a
display of "religious quilts." Since this is...

OT - Sasha update by
Johanna Gibson
We got back from the vet awhile ago. £150 later ($193) she has been
for 2 chest x-rays and been prescribed 2 medications. It appears that
she had so much fluid in and around her lungs that she was barely able
to breathe... there wasn't much available lung left. Andy is of the
opinion that, if we...

Well. I saw many many answers for every discussion.. but any

somebody taken him away.. And I miss him so much!!
But I didn't talked about this here, because I thought that it...

The perfect circle? by
Patti S
Me, who has ALWAYS avoided sewing any curves of any kind on any
thing.... suddenly has a wild hair to make a few round potholders.
Bought the insul-brite, have the fabric - but how - oh how - do you cut
the "perfect circle"? Trace? Fold in half? Fourths? Do tell.... mine
look...... welllll - rather...

Mariner's Compass (photo link) by

Definitely the biggest medallion of any kind that I've ever made. The
compass is 48" across. Finished quilt will be about 64" square. The
background is a black batik with slight shadings of blue that set off
the compass nicely.
This one is going to raise money for...

RCTQ BOM Info + Goodbye for now! by
Dannielle
Ok, you all know that I am very pregnant, but what you don't know is
that I am a high risk pregnancy with many little things that may or may
not amount to anything. In looking at the measurements of the baby
this week, next week the doctors will decide when to induce labor. It
is possible that...

WHAT DID I DO! by
Boca Jan
ACK I purchased 41 assorted fat quarters which came today. I am
overwhelmed! I usually go to the fabric store and pick out fabric for a
specific quilt - mostly traditional stuff. Well, here are all these fabrics,
1 fat quarter of each, and I haven't a clue.
With all the quilts that I have...
