Ideas for a hug quilt that will be quick to piece and finish? by
- dlm.
Hello,
As some of you know, I am the "Queen of Procrastination," aka the "Empress
of UFOs." I need some ideas for a lap size hug quilt. I need something
that will be easy to piece and quilt. However, since I'm not particularly
good at MQing unless the block size is relatively small, I will...

Ragmop/SAndy would be horrified--I was by

My LQS just moved into bigger digs, and it's a pretty good store for the
size of the town. I certainly found a lot of pretty fabric. BUT when I
asked where the hand quilting thread was, they looked at me like I had
two heads and pointed to a display of big cones in about 12 colors. No...

"FBI" themed fabric by
Irrational Number
Does anyone know if such a thing exists? I swear
I've seen it at Joann's, but I can't find it on
their website. Not only theirs, but I can't find
it anywhere, not ebay, not even cafepress (on a
t-shirt or something). So, does such a thing
exist?

A Wonderful and Glorious Hug! by
Helen in WI[_3_]
My Dearest Friends,
I am stunned ! I never thought that I would be ever on the other end of a
hug quilt. I love making blocks for other peoples hugs and hearing about
their joy of receiving a quilt. I cried and murmured"oh, my God" about 50
times!
it is so, so beautiful and the quilting is...

I did the pieced block (HARD - never did get everything to quite
match!!!), and both of the paper-pieced ones since I couldn't make up
my mind which to try. Since we're waiting on Elly to be up to full
computer power to give us...

Collectible notions? by
Sunny[_2_]
Do any of you folks collect vintage notions? I know some of you c
ollect old sewing machines. I have found a very few obviously quite
old tiny boxes of needes. Most are hand needles -- the teeniest little
things I have ever seen. I think I have one little container of
machine needles. And,...

until Christmas - slightly OT continued by
Musicmaker
I mentioned Taria's comment about the warranty while dh was getting
ready for work this morning. He laughed and said "dammit". I've
flooded his inbox at work with all the other comments (at least the
ones that agree with my opinion) just for fun. A couple facts that
make this even more funny -...

Prayers needed by
Cindy Schmidt
If you have any extras, I could certianly use them today and in the weeks to
come.
A friend of my daughters house burned this past Friday evening. It is a
total loss. Thankfully, no one was home and the family pet was at her
sister's house. I hate to hear of fires any time of year but it's...

quilty movies by
claudia
After spending all weekend running up and down the stairs, from my
sewing machine to my dh's computer (mine is in the process of crashing
so I'm desperately saving/backing up all those things that I really
can't bear to lose before the final crash comes), I got to thinking
about quilty...

Back from Houston by
Sandy
I'm home! Unfortunately, there were so many messages waiting for me that
I've marked all but one as "read" and will continue from there. So,
happy dances and hugs to all who need them -- I hope you understand. :)
I had a wonderful time -- as always. I had two very good classes and a

OT- Are you a Maxine or a Martha?? by
jennellh
*Martha's Way*
Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent
ice cream drips.
*Maxine's Way *
Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's
sake! You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it,
anyway!

Table runners by
Lizzy Taylor
Hi
Two questions on table runners:
1) What size runner would you make to go on a 44" x 66" table?
2) Anyone got any good ideas for a two colour (red & white) runner?
My first thoughts are to pick one or two simple blocks from Quilter's
Cache and make a runner about 48" x 12" long.

Catching you all up by

Hi all, I want you to all know that I am finally back on-line. I am
in my new house now, and it needs a lot of work, but landlord is
deducting what we do to the house from the rent.
Now for the bad news. Halloween night my oldest step-daughter (Sheri)
lost her oldest boy (Austin) in a car...

Anyone know this block?? by
SewVeryCreative
Can I take advantage of everyone's knowledge of quiltin' lore? I came up
with this block in EQ and I KNOW I can't have been the first one to come up
with it ... I'd really like to know if anyone knows the block's name ... so
I can add it to my library of psuedo-Civil War blocks!!
Thanks in...

foundation piecing by
Polly Esther[_2_]
I needed a quiet time last night and decided to toy with foundation piecing
a little while. The quilt I'd wanted to test is the one made by our Mickie
Swall in Quiltmaker July '00 named Secret Garden. The flowers in this
garden seemed possible to make without the tedium of foundation piecing....
