I must share this beautiful quilt made for DD, who is 9 yrs old, by a
wonderful person in Oz. I can't begin to tell you how excited my dd was to

"Extra" seam allowance? by
Meghan
Hi, as an on-again-off-again lurker this is the first place I thought to ask
when I had a question. :)
My son's toddler quilt was my second quilt and though it had no triangles,
only squares and rectangles, it had *lots* of seams and pieces. Now that he's
about to turn three he's really grown...

What's on your (quilt-related) Christmas list? by
Julia in MN
What kind of quilt-related things are you asking for or hoping that you
get this holiday season? There isn't much that I need and I've got about
as much fabric as I have room for, but I have asked for a bunch of the
Essential Thread from Connecting Threads.

T-shirt quilt by
Julia in MN[_5_]
I made a t-shirt quilt for my grandson's graduation. The hardest part
was planning it. I stabilized the shirts with French Fuse fusible
tricot. I had it quilted -- money well spent. I hope this link works.
It's a public album so you don't have to be on facebook....

The quilt block that almost did me in! by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
My Women's Shelter HUG quilt block has curved Flying Geese in a plaid
fabric, side triangles that shade from deep gold to almost white and
appliqued free-floating triangles. Quite the challenging block for me!
Now, it's done and you can see it in my Webshots...

Help for Hubby by
Carolyn from DE
I know you all must get tired of the requests for prayers but we
really need some for tomorrow. My husband (Denny) had a bout with
diverticulitis in the middle of October and was hospitalized for a
week. He went back in on 12/9 to have the 20 inches of intestines
removed. He is still in the...

Bear Mountain Quilt by

Am I the only one that has these bad days where everything you do is wrong?
I got my two different blocks done and the blocks that I did the applique on gave me the beginning of my problems. The applique made them shrink so when I put the two blocks together I am short by say 2/8 inch. Have you...

Fabric shopping - credit card theft by
Jo Gibson[_2_]
Hello folks,
Someone tried to buy a mobile phone in Finland with my credit card
details on Wednesday. I wasn't mobile shopping in Finland as it
happens. My bank phoned me to tell me of the attempted purchase, which
was declined. My bank also stopped the card and will be issuing me a
new...

Interesting info about this group - culled form the directory by
CNYstitcher
So, as I was waiting for the advil to kick in after having a root canal
done on Monday, I decided to jot down notes/statistics from the
directory information. Not sure what it will ever be used for, but it
amused me and kept my mind off the pain. Here is what I came up with:

Do you starch? by
Tricia
Do you use starch on your quilting fabrics? Why or why not? If you
do, how do you do it (spray, liquid, aerosol)? Certain brands? Any
recommendations?
What does it affect?
Tricia
(sick of sloppy cuts and considering using starch in the hopes of
crispness)
