Glass Cleaner by
[email protected]
There is lots of talk about the best glass cleaner in this group. My
Sommer & Maca salesman gave me a sample of this new glass cleaner
called Vista Cleer XP. Holy man, what a glass cleaner. He gave me a
sample in advance, I guess it is debuting at the national glass show
next week. This stuff...

[email protected]
I have two sets of new, unopened molybdenum disilicide elements for a
100# furnace, and a step down transformer for the moly system. I
decided not to build this furnace after I bought the parts from a guy
in Portland who builds them. I really don't know what the stuff is
worth but am open to...

Light shaping borosilicate tube with air/acetylene torch by
Matt
I was wondering if it would be possible to do some light shaping of
borosilicate tube with an air/acetylene torch? The type of work I would
like to do it take a length of tube and enlarge or constrict the
opening and do some light bending say no more than 30 degrees. Would
this be possible? As I...

just stained glass by
Will Woodard
Sheesh! I didn't mean to get everyone started insulting each other. Maybe I
should have worded my original post differently... like, "I'm not into the
glassblowing, and kiln stuff but I love making stained glass windows/panels.
I'm a lazy ass, so would rather not sift through the stuff posted in...

is a scarcity of practical information available. One of the few

Melting old glass by
Jeff
I am curious about the makeup of 19th and early 20th century glass from old
bottles and containers. Specifically: Do the melting points of various glass
(glasses?) make it possible to arrange pieces of various types into a frame,
melt them in a kiln until they flow together, then pull the piece to...

Has this group been Hitlerised? by
derek
This used to be a great big meeting place for like minded glass folks.
There were loads of postings, and it was "active"!
Now, it seems dull, stilted, neglected, like an old Irish cottage that
no-one visits.
A few days ago, I posted notice of a sale at my glass book website, advising
you all (all...
