masking glass for carving by Lady VanM
As a mask for sandblasting glass rather deeply, I have been using 3M masking tape for years (#280-3511). But now they're discontinuing it - Yikes! It's really thick paper with lots of goo, withstands nearly 1/4-inch of sandblasting with 100-grit silicon carbide before totally degrading, and never...

adding firebrick to fiber-lined kiln by EJ
Has anyone done this? I have a fiber lined kiln (brick bottom) that I would like to increase the insulation efficiency of. What I'm trying to achieve is this ... being able to turn off my kiln sooner, rather than keeping it on to ramp down slowly. There are going to be days when I just can't...

Old putty/cement removal by Moonraker
Any suggestions for removing old, dried putty/cement from lead came? I've been using a Dremel and a thin abrasive wheel and grinding it out while doing a repair. I was thinking about some cutter that would be the same thickness as the heart of the came?

Bench Legs by James Laws
I love to make benches but I am having a devil of a time finding a source for bench legs. The molds available through stained glass supply houses are too plain. I like the common scholl design seen on many benches. Any ideas?

Slumping mirrors. by Mike Firth
If you want a slumped mirror, you will have to mirror probably with silver after the slumping is done. The curved mirrors used for observing traffic (at alleys, etc.) are quite weather resistant, so what do you need more. If the glass has stainless steel in the middle, it won't slump. ...
