Semi-On topic for the Librarians by Cheryl Isaak
Ok ladies and gents, I am having one of those "anal" fits and trying to catalog all my magazines - mostly to make sure I don't re-buy copies of The Needleworker. BUT - I am going to do all my collected magazines. So - here is my question - don't all magazines have a issue number and/or a volume...

OT - prayers, good thoughts please by Cheryl Isaak
I just found out that one of the little boys on DD's hockey team from last year has cancer - one of the treatable childhood leukemia, but is having rough time. I can't get his Mom's face out of my mind; I saw her yesterday at the local bagel shop I introduced them too last spring trying to keep...

Unexpected find by Cheryl Isaak
I wandered into the local "consignment" shop looking for a desk for DS. They'd moved and have also broadened their horizons and have books and videos and what nots. I found Lisbeth Perrone's Folk Art in Needlepoint and Cross Stitch for a whole $2. It's is mine now! Cheryl

OT - what a day! by Cheryl Isaak
Yesterday (Sunday), was a long day! It really starts Saturday - DD and I went off to support her fellow girl players - a U12 ladies game, ended up running in a bunch of her friends and she stayed to do public skate. So a quick jaunt to Manchester instead meant the afternoon spent there. And that...

First day of classes by Cheryl Isaak
Well, remember I asked about what I need to teacher cross stitch to 10-12 year old girls? Well, today was my first class. Other than some room confusions, it was a BLAST (and I sure needed some fun). I have 7 girls and one teacher to teach. Two are clearly bored already - it wasn't "fun" right...

Last class by Cheryl Isaak
Sigh, my stitching class is over. :( Those sweet girls seem to be eager stitchers. I've heard from several of their Moms that they are stitching every night now. I charted up a chart that says "Orts" in cross stitch and backstitch. I washed up some baby food jars and gave each of them some orts...

OFF TOPIC - for the Renaissance Faire fans by Cheryl Isaak
I just finished the funniest book - Katie MacAlister's A Hard Day's Knight. Takes place at fictionalized Ren Faire with a tourney. I laughed so hard I wept. And I adore the International Wenches Guild. Cheryl

Trivia for the day! by Cheryl Isaak
From Uncle John's Bathroom Reader for 3/5/04 Wool is scratchier than most fabrics because it stimulates two types of nerve endings at once. The pressure of the wool again your skin activates the itch nerves and the individual fibers tickle the nerve ending that are wrapped around your hair...

OT - sort of bizarre by Cheryl Isaak
Ok - Laconia Motorcycle Weekend is starting to gear up (all puns intended). Always interesting, as the entire state seems to play host to these visitors. Seen today on the highway - 1 Volvo diesel station wagon, pulling a trailer with 2 Harley Davidson's Sports and one chopper. Just seems to be...

OT - this feels weird by Cheryl Isaak
In about 30 minutes, I will walk down to the bus stop with DD for first day of first grade. It seems just a few days ago, I was bringing her home, instead of 6 days to the day. Cheryl

OT - what a day by Cheryl Isaak
After spending nearly all day out of the house yesterday, I did a marathon day around the house. The living room is nearly all rearranged for the sofa and such we are ordering soon (I hope). Sorted toys, trashed broken ones, did laundry (16 trips to the basement for laundry and other things)...
