2 Questions by grammykathy
1. Is there a way to tell if fabric has been washed or not? I got some fabric from a lady who's aunt died and left her with a LOT of fabric and she shared her wealth with others so she doen't know if it has or not. 2. Is there a video anywhere that shows how to put together (what I have been...

2 wonderful additions to my 2009 repertoire (not off topic) by Musicmaker
In the last week of 2009, my son let me know that the art quilt/ portrait that I gave them for Christmas last year is so precious to them that they have painted and decorated the master bedroom with colors to coordinate and are going to put it in a glassed in frame and hang it permanently. I...

2 year old choosing fabric! by Morag in Oxford
Hi all, Today I went with my not yet 2 year old to the local fabric shop to pick up some polycotton to finish off cushion covers. They don't have a massive selection of quilting fabric, but there was a nice pack of brightly coloured plains that I thought would be perfect for a quilt for the baby...

200 thread count muslin by Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Joann has some 200 ct. 100% cotton muslin. Now, I'm a muslin snob.... has anybody experienced this muslin? How does it act after washing and drying? Does it have a nice smooth hand both before and after laundering? How wrinkle-free is it? I'm concerned about ordering online and being...

2000-year-old needlework by Jack Campin - bogus address
I meant to post about this some time ago, but for anyone within reach of Istanbul before early April there is an amazing artifact at this exhibition: http://muze.sabanciuniv.edu/cengiz_han/english/ It's a wall hanging from a yurt (Central Asian nomadic tent) dated to around 2000 years ago. It's...
