Using Titanium Pen for Electroforming on Glass by Tink
Has anyone here used a Titanium pen for electroforming on glass? Rather than reinventing the wheel on my own, I thought I'd ask here before jumping in. Thanks -- Tink www.blackswampglassworks.com

Using wood pieces... by Bart V
Hi folks, I plan on using some wood pieces (cut to the same thickness as glass) mixed in with regular glass pieces in some panels. Any ideas about whatever I can put on the wood so they'll stay untouched while cleaning and puttying. Something I can peel off when it's finished, maybe Mactac, some...

vacuum seal on experimental apparatus by Permafacture
Howdy: I'm planning an experimental apparatus. The part that i am asking about here is a seal between a borosilicate chamber (with an inch or so diameter opening) and small diameter metal tube. The chamber will be evacuated by an adsorbent and may pull a very decent vacuum, I'm not sure how...

Valle Crucis Folk Art Center by Mike Hulbert
The Folk Art Center in Valle Crucis North Carolina will give visitors an opportunity to explore the High Country's rich history of folk arts. What better place to do so than the 143-year-old Hard Taylor House? Area businessman Mike Hulbert leased the house with a vision: to establish a gallery and...

What kind of ventilation should you have to do bead work? If I want to work in my basement will I have any issues? My basement is 60 x 32. about 1/3 of it is a woodworking shop and I have a metal working section (not very big I do most of my metal work outside at my forge).

Greetings, I am retiring from the stained glass business due to age and health reasons. I am looking to sell my collection of vintage Chicago Art glass. I worked for their studio for years and was often paid in glass instead of money. When they went out of business about 1987 I bought all I...

Vintage glass hurricane lamp: How to cover transferware? by hrn111
I have a beautiful hurricane lamp that has horrible sunflowers on it. It is a transferware type of technique, I don't believe it is hand-painted. Is there anyway I can cover the sunflowers with something else? Perhaps another transfer that would cover the sunflowers? If so, when the light is on,...

Virus/Trojans by Moonraker
One of the glass vendors must be infected with the latest virus/trojan. I'm getting loads of emails into one of my business email accounts that only gets used for corresponding with vendors. Be careful of any emails that have an attachment(s) that are ~31KB in size.

Waaaaah! :-( by suzilem
I just had my first chunk-o-glass fracture in my kiln. :-( I was slumping a 3.5"x3.5" shallow dish and it cracked right down the middle and flung its two halves to opposite sides of my kiln (granted, since the cavity is only 8"x8" they didn't fling far). What's REALLY annoying is this...
