OT rcty by Gillian Murray
I did a few days back, and it was hilarious. Then the NSDMIL had a yarn question ( I told her it wasn't the right yarn, and there was insufficient, but what do I know??) So I courteously asked a question today on rcty. No response. I had checked after all the crap that went on, and it was...

I put a load of laundry in, and now I'm going to settle in with some stitching. I have about 2000-2500 stitches left on a birthday gift. If I make a point of working on it daily, it'll be done in time. -- Karen C - California www.CFSfacts.org where we give you the facts and dispel the...

Waaay OT; Muslim cartoons. by F.James Cripwell
There is a lot of talk on places like BBC World about a set of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohommed in a humerous light, which were published in a Danish newspaper. They have since been published in several other European newspapers. I have tried to find them on the web without success. ...

An introduction & the jump to evenweave by Raine
I thought it was about time I introduced myself. My name is Raine and I've been lurking here for several years. I'm 32, married, and have 2 cats (no kids yet). I'm addicted to chocolate and hate Miracle Whip. I prefer live Christmas trees, but so do my cats (they think of them as their own personal...

New VIRUS warning by Monique Reed
Today I got an e-mail supposedly from Microsoft Tech Support that contained what was alleged to be a security patch for their system. What the attachment contained was, in fact, a virus so new that many antivirus programs don't detect it. My husband, who's the departmental computer guru, submitted...

LNS in Alabamastan by Tia Mary
Hi Guys, Since Janet (my stitchin' buddy) won't have the time to go to a needlework show, we were talking about taking an overnight trip to a LNS. That is assuming we can find one that is worth the trip! I would do the driving and we would leave from Janet's house in Birmingham. Does...

Karen, what have you people done???? by Lucille
Oh Sheena, I'm so disappointed. You mean you don't agree that the new Governor of California is wonderful. After all, he certainly has a unique way of pronouncing the name of the state he was elected to lead -- Caleeeeeefornia. Isn't that enough of an endorsement for you???? Lucille p.s. If I...

Celtic Winter? by DanielleHallOH
I've heard rumors that Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum will release a Celtic Winter to complete the Celtic Ladies series. I know I'd love to have one; I think it would look great to have all 4 displayed together, and I wouldn't want to leave Celtic Christmas out all .ear round. I just started Celtic...

Sadness in the needle craft. by Fred
The 1st thing that I have noticed is that there are less and less cross stitch and needlepoint magazines in our local new stands. Some news stands do not carry any cross stitch and needlepoint magazines period. The 2nd thing is that we used to have six (6) LNS in my area. Three (3) have closed...

Survey Question: ages of needleworkers? by wild
Hi all, after reading one or two posts in The Garden, there seemed to be a repetetive debate on the expected age of a needleworker. I assume that most posting here are in the 40+ age range, but, purely out of interest, I would like to do a survey - and this includes all lurkers who donīt normally...
