very OT and long: Tax Breaks by
C Cordell
I found this nearly two years ago in a little magazine called "Prairie
Times", and kept it around for election time. With all the rhetoric
being fired by both sides, I thought this might be an appropriate time
to post it.
Whether or not you agree with what the man has to say, it's something...

OT-I HATE APPLIANCES by
Lucille
My washing machine just dropped dead. It's only 11 years old and never got
to see it's teen years.
If anyone cares to join me in a very loud, very meaningful "OH S**T" please
feel free to do so.

Shouting My Ignorance... by
Pat Thompson-Dumas
One of the embarrassing realities of living in the boondocks (and, for the
most part, not having a whole lotta moolah grin) is that folks such meself
sometimes don't get the opportunity to visit a real.honest-to-goodness LNS
with someone to chat about with and learn from when it comes to...

Wish list by

What stitching design or accessory or tool or fiber or trip would you love to
have?
I'd love to attend Country Bumpkin's Beating Around the Bush or have a Beryl
Cook (http://www.berylcook.org) work translated to canvas or surface
embroidery, complete with stitch guide (limited tent or satin...

Unused Stash Survey by
anne
About 18 months ago, I bought quite a bit of silk thread and ribbon from Hand
Dyed Fibers (http://www.hand-dyedfibers.com/). I put the silk threads to use
almost immediately and began collecting silk ribbon how to books. There are
several projects I'd like to do but something is holding me back...

Cost of Needlework Patterns by
Julie
Every once and awhile I abandon needlework for a long period of time
then come back to it. After a hiatus of about a year (when I
concentrated on quilting), I returned to my first love. To "celebrate"
I purchased a needlework inventory program and entered in all my
leaflets and books along with...

OT Halloween rant by
Lee
How can it be that I love embroidery of almost any kind, I love all
stages of quilting, and I love knitting, but I hate, hate, hate sewing
Halloween costumes?? I hate fiddling with the patterns, I hate
reading the patterns, and I hate running this stuff thru my sewing
machine.
Anybody else out...

Reading is never off topic is it? by
Cheryl Isaak
Just finished "The Thirteenth Tale", which I highly recommend to all the
Jane Eyre fans out there.
Finished about an hour ago, Naameh's Kiss. Same world as her Kushiel's
series, but set several generations after. I suspect a few more books to
follow.
Any one got a few good suggestions? Reading...

New Years resolution? by
Anne Tuchscherer
Does anyone have a New Year's resolution they would like to share?
Mine stems from a fairly new show on TV called Clean Sweep. It has
inspired me to dejunk and organize my home. I won't be able to unload
complete rooms into my building's yard, but I think I can do small
projects each weekend. ...

Pictures of Designs on Websites by
Rachel Janzen
So I'm surfing through some needleworking blogs. Found a posting with a
WIP picture of a design I thought intriguing. Wanted a better look, so
went to designer's website (had it bookmarked). The picture in a word
SUCKED!!! I can't emphasis this enough, it was bad! So I returned to the
orignal blog,...

to frog or not to frog by
anne
that is the question . . .
Putting it another way: when do you live with what you know is wrong or decide
to do it over even though your 'mistakes' aren't that horrendous?

Mar-Bek's Nativity by
Maureen Miller
O.K. I have 10,000 WIP's but Mar-Bek's Nativity is calling out to me.
Can anybody tell me how long this project will take me to stitch? I'm
thinking that if I hide the six charts at the back of the drawer behind
all the other "Must Have's" that just maybe DH won't notice them.....
But will I...

Best books this year by
bungadora
I'm in the process of making up my Christmas list, and couldn't think
of any new books out this year I don't already have on order. Mind you,
I don't know why I bother because no one ever gets me what I want
anyway. Going through the online listing is downright depressing, since
so many needlework...
