Stained Glass Software by
Michael[_2_]
I have got several transom-shaped windows in my house. Stained glass
windows to fit inside of them will be my first foray into stained
glass.
I am not much of an artist, but from all the pattern books I've found
available, that shouldn't prove to be much problem. Choosing the
proper glass to use...

Semi-OT - forum censorship by
Kalera Stratton
I have recently found out that Wetcanvas is actively censoring certain
links (to other forums) out of private messages between users... and
this really upsets me. I personally have made furthering accurate
information about lampworking one of my core values, and it breaks my
heart to see a popular...

Help a girl out: 11 pendants on eBay going cheap!! by
[email protected]
One of my early attempts at selling my pendants online is bombing. :-(
As I had some various things lying around, I thought it would help
clean up quickly if I posted them all together. So I have eleven dichro
pendants in the auction, and the price is a measly buck right now. I
thougth it would be...

Market Opportunities for Stained Glass?? by
Roody
Hello, all -
What are list members' thoughts about the best way(s) to sell stained glass
pieces? And what types of S.G. do customers want to buy?
My wife is new to S.G., but her pieces are already looking very nice. Mostly
inserts for windows and cabinet doors. We're wondering what are the...

Lurkers Speak! by
Glassman
I respect your right to lurk, but if each of you would try and become just
a tad more out of the closet, just think of how much more fun this place
would be. Try one post, or better yet one thread start, or one question.
This board is really drying up, and that's the primary reason for the...

The Dying SG Retail Store by
Glassman
My sense, after talking with people around the country, is that the
stained glass retail store is quickly becoming extinct. A combination of
things is to blame. Cheap lamp and panel imports from China, Korea, and
Mexico was the start. Then it was mailorder & wholesalers selling to anyone.
Now...

Fusing Glass Discussions by
FlameNwind
Hi everyone! Have been playing with my new kiln and LOVING it!!! Thinking
about pre-emptively buying stock in the electric company to recoup some of
my costs in running the thing day and night. But aside from the fact that
glass will be making me a pauper in short order, working with warm glass...

Building a kiln controller by
liam potts
I am looking to build a controller for my kiln its 240 30 amp

Cleaning up copper after torch firing Enamel... by
Jman
I'm torch firing enamel powders, frits, Diachroic, etc. on 24 oz
copper sheets.. I want to retain some of the natural copper color in
some areas of the pieces after being torched (no underglaze..), so I
need to remove the firescale.
Mostly, I've been using SPAREX #2 and a dremel (with an arsenal...

Solder properties? Irons? by
searobin8356
Hi all, I'm new to stained glass. Ok, that probably lost 90% of you but
sometimes you just have to be new. I've been lurking, and rarely, posting
here for the past month or so. I am considering working with lead free
solder and am looking for a site that lists solder properties. What I want
to...

The Power of Being Established by
Glassman
I'm finding that the last couple of years my job volume has gone way
down, but the job size has gone way up. Everytime I think I'm going to slit
my wrists, a huge job falls in my lap. It's the in between time that's
baffling. I just don't see the small repairs and commissions as much
anymore. ...

Query about glass cutting by
Mr.McSpanky
I am an owner builder and as such have glass needs for my windows.
If I have a large piece of glass is it feasible to cut that glass down
in size and use it for a windows?
Would this be cheaper than outright purchase of glass precut to the size
required?
I am assuming that pretty much any qualified...

Searching for machine/commercial-rolled flashed glass by
John O. Riordan - Riordan Artistry
Hi Folks,
I am revisiting a subject from 6 years ago or so out of necessity
and desire.
Where can one find a reliable source of commercial grade, flat,
flashed glass
suitable for detailed sandblast etching.
There was absolutely great stuff out there about 9 or 10 years
ago, but the source
is no...
