Disappointed in Road to CA . . . . by
WHOLEYLADY
. . . and crashing my car had nothing to do with it! I thought there were
too few quilts and too many vendors. I would have paid more to see more quilts.
This year's quilts seemed, to me at least, to be heavier on the art quilts and
lighter on the traditional. Your thoughts?

I have almost finished the top, but I can't decide whether to use the blue

border will be finished out with 9...

need pattern for knitted vest for one year old by
DrQuilter
any knitter has a nice pattern for a vest that might fit a slender 11
month old? DH bought this beautiful hand dyed yarn but I don't think it
is enough for a sweater for Sofia. I'll attempt a vest first, otherwise
it will be a hat and scarf or something of the kind...

Quilting week report by
Julia in MN
Yesterday I finished the machine quilting on a king/queen size log cabin
quilt, and today I put the binding on. I made the top a few years ago,
and it has been sitting here waiting to be quilted. I did a stitch in
the ditch between the blocks using my walking foot. Then I did free
motion SITD...

OT several short jokes by
LN \(remove NOSPAM\)
I was in the express lane at the store quietly fuming. Completely ignoring
the sign, the woman ahead of me had slipped into the check-out line pushing
a cart piled high with groceries. Imagine my delight when the cashier
beckoned the woman to come forward looked into the cart and asked sweetly,
"So...

Another prayer quilt by
Kim E
Some of you may remember that my church started a new ministry called
Prayers & Squares. Information about the organization can be found at
www.prayerquilt.org. Quilts are made for a person needing comfort.
Ties are put in, but are not tied. People say a prayer for the
recipient and tie a knot. ...

Anyone have one? If you do, which piece of Drunkards Path goes on
top...the "pie" or the "crust?" I always put the larger piece on top
when easing a curve the conventional way. TIA Nancycog in MD

Great quilty weekend! (LONG) by
Maureen Wozniak
Friday and Saturday was my ASG chapter's annual sewing getaway. We
headed off to the middle of nowhere to a spacious B & B and sewed away.
And you are correct, I didn't tell you I was leaving. I know better
than to announce to this group that my stash was going to be unguarded
for two days!
I...

Another hug quilt request by

Guys,
I hope this doesn't seem presumptuous ... I've been back in rctq for --
what, less than 48 hours? -- and I already have a hug request.
Everybody hear about the La Conchita slide south of Santa Barbara? The
one where people were killed in mudslides, and more people lost their
houses? I...

Hello Again!! by

Okay - I'm officially back - at least for the most part.
I finished the Anniversary quilt that was weighing heavily. It is through
the washer and looking every inch the way I'd hoped. I now can't wait for
the presentation which will not be for two weeks. So that means I can bask
in having it...

Electric Quilt 5--good deal! (NAYY) by

Just joined AQS this morning--and noticed that members can buy EQ5 for $88.
And since membership is only $20 and gets you 5 issues of their magazine as
well as other discounts, that seems a good deal, no?
