I GOTTA SQUISHY!!! My first, ever! Whoohooo! by
Volfie, Owner, GizzMutt Stables
Thanks, Karen. What a nice surprise. It was nestled in my mailbox between
a new Zip drive and a pattern for men's boxer shorts that I bought on eBay.
:) It was nice to get something just for *me*.
Thanks again!
Giselle

Amish country at last!!! Need recommendations by
Karen Johnson
I've been wanting to go to Amish country to "do quilts" since ...
well, since 1975, come to think of it.
And it looks like I'm finally going to get to go! My college roommate
and I have planned a "girls weekend out" in April, just running around
and looking at anything and everything...

Report from MAQF by
Pat in Virginia
Today was first day of Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival
in Hampton VA. I did not get to the show itself,
as I was in an all day class. That Perfect Stitch
(C) taught by Dierdre McElroy. It was fantastic! I
learned so much and am anxious to practice so my
HQ will improve. I had a quick cup of coffee...

OT - Amazing Race by
Sharon Harper
Wow! When you guys told me the new series would be more
....umm...controversial than the last I didn't think it possible. I thought
Colin had anger problems but Jonathan - oh heavens! We've just seen the
episode where they have the pit stop in Berlin. When he clouted her over
the head outside...

I'd like to send these media mail due to the weight, so this one will have

Keith's hug quilt by
Joanne Passmore
Hi folks: I hope this works. I think after 1/2 hour I have the pictures of
Keith's hug quilt up for you to see. I finished Keith's quilt last night and
delivered it to the house this morning. Keith is at home on a pain pump,
taking three weeks of chemo to try to decrease the tumor and give him...

Fussy Cut & Irish Chain? by
dogmom
Would Irish Chain (double or triple) work as a frame of sorts around blocks
which are fussy cut? Like, if I had a variety of 6" square big prints, would
the IC make a decent frame? If not, any favorite suggestions for what would?
TIA
Dogmom

Rhonda Alterson
I have a featherweight with the straight line face plate. Does anyone know if it is possible to get one of the scroll work face plates and swap it out?

OT What is this flu? by
NightMist
OK, I have been miserable.
The entire past week I have had a freaky flu.
For 4-5 days it felt as if my insides were _bruised_.
Truly, like a tiny little man with a big stick and a vendetta had been
running around my innards and whacking all of them hard. Now that
that is better everything feels...

The Perils of Polyester :-P*** by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys,
Well, I have been very busy trying to get all the stuff done that needs to
be done so that I can take it with me when I go to Lizard Land on the 15th.
One of those things is making a quilt for my DSonIL (who is doing quite nicely
and improving steadily) to use during his rehab. He's an...

AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! by
KJ
I posted a photo of the top I just finished. When I went back into the
studio and looked at it on the design wall, I found a block that had been
pieced with the wrong fabric. This pattern had a very specific fabric
placement diagram. As I leaned into my closet to retrieve the bag of...

I'm back!! by
Janner
Hi everyone, looks as if you've all been very busy. I've nearly finished a
quilt - now binding it, and it seems to be taking forever, how big can this
qilt really be ? :s) I thought that it was only a single, feels more like a
kingsize! Are there any easy ways to bind, apart from giving it to...

Looking for fabric calculator by
sunrize
A very dear friend left her fabric calculator here at my house. My
"lovely" young daughter got ahold of it and now it is broken in a few
pieces. I think she fell on it.
It is black w/no company name on it. I REALLY want to replace it before
I tell her it is broken. I tried doing a internet...

Paducah/Houston by
R. E. Wicker
I have been to the Paducah show in Kentucky three times. Each time
with a bus loaded with female quilters and a grand hostess Robyn. I
credit her with the success of the trips. I'd love to still be going
but have not found another tour company that makes the trip. Do to
the flooding in upper...

Estate sale find by
Elizabeth Wilson
DH and I went to an estate sale today. I bought a double wedding ring quilt
with 8 pointed stars in the centers of the rings, about 50X60 inches,
machine-pieced but hand-quilted. I paid $15.00. It has some stains; what is
the recommended way to clean it (Ragmop, I know you have a...

Cleaning quilts by
Janner
I don't know if you have any ideas, but my MIL has a quilt about 20 yrs old
and when they moved house years ago it got water stained (they think that is
what it is). After that they got it dry cleaned, but the stain is still
there. Is it too late now or can it be cleaned and remove the...

Carpenter's Star happy dance by
Kimbis
Just finished quilting and binding a 70x70 "Carpenter's Star". I
bought the pattern at an LQS walking distance from my house (DANGEROUS)
and they were impressed because I did it in *brights* with Laurel Burch
Kitty Christmas Angels for the border. Looks VERY different from the
"country colors"...
