finally back home, good news and bad news by
Terbear
Hi all,
Well, we just arrived home from our week in NY. on the tail end of our
vacation folks started getting sick, really sick. I was so glad none of us
got sick. Sammy (he is the baby) was very cranky on the flight home, till I
sat with him, then he was fine. We got to John Wayne airport & DH had...

WIPS by
Mary in Oregon
I have been organizing my quilting projects this morning. I have one quilt
sandwiched and ready to quilt, 3 tops ready to sandwich, 2 tops in the
works, 4 patterns with fabric, and at least 5 more in the planning. That
doesn't take into account the blocks I'm embroidering. Maybe it's time...

Fabric Search by
Marianne Teubner
In the past I have used a fabric search feature, where I entered what I was
looking for, and then fabric shops notified me if they had what I was
looking for. I can't remember the url and really need to do a fabric search.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.

HELP! Thread jam by
MoragP
I've managed to jam some thread behind the take-up lever on my new Bernina.
Since there's a plate hiding the lever, I don't want to just yank the two ends
I can see and leave a hunk in the machine.
If I try rethreading with a strong buttonhole thread, do you think it will pull
the broken strand...

Nancy's Notions comes through by
Kate T.
I've been looking for a High Shank free motion foot for a and old SM I have.
It's called Electro-Hygiene. Can't find any info at all on the machine.
The manual is long gone. This machine is in a cabinet and I've been wanting
to use it for free motion quilting. Well Nancy's Notions came through...

back from glorious Hawaii by
Ann Adamson
It seems like between getting ready, and then spending 10 amazing days
there, I've been gone for so long!
There were something like 3000 posts!! I had to just do a "catch up" to
all.
Anyway, my DH and two DS's and I just got back EARLY this morning on a
red-eye from Kauai.
We spent 7 nights in...

Singer ball bearing Pinking Attachment available by
Cathy Tyler
Included in a lot I purchased this past weekend at an estate sale was
a Singer Ball Bearing Pinking Attachment, with small instruction
guide, copyright 1935. It will not fit any of my machines and I would
like to pass it on to someone who could use it. It "readily attaches
to any Singer...

t-shirt quilt question by
judy in fort worth
I am making a t-shirt for mdn and have run into a snag. She was a softball
player in high school and these are her uniform shirts. Two of them are
made of 100% nylon. I am afraid to try to iron on the interfacing because I
am afraid that I will melt the shirts. Has anyone encountered this...

Almost found it!! by
julia sidebottom
My studio is beginning to look like there is 'space' in it again. Every
time Jerry walks through here he is amazed. I can even find my cutting
table now! I even have the fabric dying supplies put away properly.
Now that was a challenge. I still have to go through my sewing box and
sort through...

Armless seamstresses! by
Mary in Oregon
Reminds me of a gentleman I met many years ago. He lost his right arm in a
sledding accident as a young child. To teach him how to use his left arm,
his mother taught him how to embroider.

You know it's time to go to bed when... by
Eli
I'm staying up late tonight to get all the hug blocks done. So I'm on my
last one and I have just enough fabric to complete the block in the colors
chosen. The block contains half triangles so I cut them at 2 7/8" and sew
on the line instead of on either side of the line. Cut, press......

Free Motion Quilting Epiphany!! by
Lizzy Taylor
I know it's Good Friday, but for my FMQ it is definitely epiphanic.
I have just improved my FMQ by several orders of magnitude (not=20
difficult because it was appalling before) simply by purchasing a new=20
foot pedal/speed controller. For some time I had been able to sew at=20
slow or fast with...

OT - attachments - virus??? by
Cindy Schmidt
I received an email from Merry Stahel and just by the looks of it I would
imagine it to be a virus.
So just be careful if you get one from her.
I know Merry from the group but we are not close personal friends so that
was the first heads up.
Just wanted to let Merry and everyone else know. And...

Yuck! by

I stayed up an extra two hours this evening trying to finish my mini RR
and it didn't work! I'm so annoyed. I'm too tired right now to figure
out why it didn't work. :(- (me pouting with my tongue stuck out!)
I'm trying to figure out if I should rip it up and start over, or just
re-cut the...

New way to get backing flat by
Kathy in CA
I found a new way---for me anyway---to get the back straight. PIN IT TO THE
BATTING FIRST. Lay the batting down but leave partially folded; then lay the
backing right side up and pin across and down, unfolding the batting as
needed; THEN turn the whole then over and start pinning the top on; ever...
