Bathroom window tinting? by
Bart V
I've been asked a couple of times what I could do to have windows
(like bathroom, sliding patio doors) provide better privacy. Removing
them for sandblasting or etching is not an option (not set up for
that). Unless etching can be done while the glass is vertical (mounted
in the door)? I got to...

Stretching lead by
Bart V
While stretching some lead this afternoon I got to wondering, by how
much should you stretch it anyway? The way my homebrew stretcher works
it yanks it by about 3 to 4 inches. That's enough, too much or just
about right?
From the classes I took some time ago I remember you do it to the make

incorporating wood? by
Bart V
I'm thinking of doing a lead came panel using some thin slabs of wood
as the "glass pieces," mixed in with the regular glass pieces. I can
slice them with my band saw no prob, but I'm wondering, anybody has
any suggestions what kind of goop I can slop on the wood? Looking for
something that doesn't...

Lurker, I suppose by

I was thinking about you folks and signed up on this NG after not
having read any of the postings for some goodly while.
Got a phone call for an estimate on fixing some pieces broken in a
panel, helped the guy find his eyes after they popped out when I told
him how much.
A recent email has me doing...

SG fence update by
Bart V
Hi folks,
Just to fill you in - the glass "lattice" just survived it's 4th
Canadian winter. Simply marvellous how strong the whole panel got when
puttied/cemented with the recipie that Javahut posted some years ago.
Cold/hot temps, winter storm - simply no match for this panel, it

Thanks for everything by
Bart V[_2_]
Hi folks,
If there's anyone left to read this that is - thanks for answering all
my questions over the years. Thanks to you I became a pretty good
stained glass dude. Too bad it never took me anywheres income, or
jobwise, although I did end up with a few nice pieces for myself.
I'll probably keep...

Melted Lead Lamp Shades? by
Bashley
Howdy - New to the group. Been into stained glass for about 10 years.
Mostly windows, some lampshades and candle holders, etc. Arts and
crafts and prairie style mostly. Anyway - I was wondering if anyone
knew how the commercial stained/leaded glass lampshade makers make
their shades. I mean, it...

There is, or could be another group for those using recycled glass. As far as
I can tell it doesn't really exist, having only a few members. Maybe if more
join it will become useful. The site is

Hi everyone:
Does anyone know of any good books on neon sign making. I'm a complete

Neon Sign Courses by
BC Brian
Hi everyone:
Don't know if this the right site for this question, but I'm sure someone
will set me straight.
I am wondering if there are any institutions teaching neon signmaking on the
west coast of the US or Canada? Must be in a continuous format - once a week
at night school won't work for...

Polishing Large Pieces of Bulk Glass by
[email protected]
I have obtained several large pieces of different colors of bulk glass.
They are irregular shaped between the size of a baseball and softball.
The pieces have sharp edges an many are covered in scratches and flaked
edges.
I am using these in some yard art in which I wrap the pieces in copper
