NG on Google - may be other topic - not sure by
Ceridwen - C & S
I was just checking out Google's new set up for the ng. It's quite
neat. I gives you a link of all the posts from an author. It also
tells you who the top poster is for the month Feb, non other than our
Jessamy with a total of 57 posts. Cheryl from Oz is close behind with
24, however given that...

Just Duckie by
polly esther
I decided to make a crib quilt that was simply 9 baby duck blocks.
Naturally the ducklings needed to be yellow. Plenty of that around.
The webbed feet and duck bills needed to be yellow-er. (?)
Decided orange would be good. Chose the orange here that is exploding
fireworks on...

OT - pre-emergency prayer request by
Karen, Queen of Squishies
I just found out Bob was exposed to strep throat Sunday night. We need to
pray he won't get it, because with his artificial valve and all, it could be
life-threatening. TIA!

favorite traditional block? by
claudia
Good morning everyone!
I'm enjoying one of those rare quiet moments in the practice. First
relatively decent day weather wise in over a week so patients have
better things to do than to come to see me!
I am still fighting the telephone company; still no phone line in the
house so I still have to...

LQS class by
Sunny
We have a really new LQS here in town and they are making a mighty
effort to get their footing and even my DH is encouraging to buy from
them rather than buy cheaper things online. So, when we decided to
paint and do new curtains, DH and I went there to buy all the fabric to
make the curtains. (Was...

How much thread should I buy? by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
I am thinking ahead on my blue and yellow log cabin which is 120 in. X
120 in. I plan to mq it by outlining the appliques and using a
McTavishing technique in the open spaces- but a larger more open
quilting pattern than shown in the book to save time and effort. I
will buy the thread when I go...

Annual Quilting Week: What are you working on? by
Sally Swindells
I have cut out the fabric and paper for my paper pieced Starry, Starry
Night blocks for the Swap. Five styles, (6 of each)and I'm doing an
extra block of each for me to keep, so think that will be all I'll do as
36 blocks is what I need for the Wall Hanging I envisage. We have a
narrow window...

How to help needed by
Dee in Oz
I have been making this quilt for DH's cousin but have run out of the
centre 'garden' fabric.

I have about 20" of each of the other 3 fabrics left as well as
another piece of the red that is about 50" long.

Buying fabric on line by
Judie in Penfield NY
I am really irritated right now with my local TSWLTH, and my not so
local one. I realize I'm lucky to have any fabric store choices at all,
BUT, since they seem to have such a difficult time cutting straight, I'm
thinking I need to start shopping on line. Are the on line stores any
better? Or...

AQS Online Quilt Contest - who's entered? by
Bronnie
Has anyone entered a quilt online in this contest?
It seemed like a great idea - particularly for non US residents - to
show our work without paying huge freight charges etc.
I entered my "Dancing Lights in Indigo Night" quilt, paid my US$10,
it was accepted, is displayed online and now I am...

What would you do with this? by
Patti S
I adore Laurel Burch - and while surfing around on fabric sites this
morning, I found this and HAD to have it. I have no idea what I'm going
to do with it. Would you cut it up or leave it whole? I've had NO
experience with panels....

Does anyone have a link to instructions for burp cloths? I vaguely remember
reading about this but, of course, didn't bookmark it and now would like to
make some for a co-worker.

No More Ordering from eQuilter by
Emma Thackery
They bilk you for extra money by calculating their shipping costs based
on the retail price of an item--- NOT the price you pay them for the
fabric. And that is on top of already excessive domestic shipping
rates. Here is what they say on their page:
"*Total Order Value is calculated based...

cleaning/reorganizing studio by

I decided to change the subject line from "The Chi is flowing again"
because we had taken off in a very positive direction of how to clean
and reorganize your studio.
Several of us mentioned that we remove everything from the room and
start over again, deciding as we replace things if we really...

Should I keep my old machine? by
Boca Jan
If I could, I would have slept with my Janome, it is such a pleasure to sew
on. Now my DH and I are debating if I should keep the old one or not. It is
in perfect condition, but I can't figure out why I would want to use it.
Any comments/ideas?

This isn't a life or death although at times I wonder. But I am due
March 20 with baby. Well I need to have her now. I can't stand for
anymore than 10 mins, and even that is very painful. Can't drive the car
because this baby is sitting so low I have to lift my belly to sit down.
Then she...
