Two-tone pleated skirt -- advice? by
AMM
I have ended up with some remnants of wool, a smaller one
in a dark brown, and a larger one in a lighter brown.
I thought I'd try putting them together to make a pleated
skirt with an interesting effect:
I would cut each into 19 strips, 3.5 in. ones of the
dark brown, and 6 in. ones of the light...

K Danks
Does anyone know where I can find 20" light weight separating zippers? I'm
sewing show shirts for some 4-H girls showing horses and the big plastic
ones just aren't gonna cut it. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks so much! Karen

fake fur stuck in the up down mechanism by
[email protected]
You have all been so helpful about the weak machine I wonder if you can
help me with trying to fix my singer.
I had 3 party bags to go (fake fur, monster bags) and for some stupid
reason I flipped the fur on the left hand side of the foot up and it
got caught in the rod that goes up and down and...

Installing welt cord and zipper in a pillow by
Carla Pollard
I've never done this before and am hoping someone on the list can shed some
light, provide directions, on the best way to fabricate a pillow that has a
welt cord (piping) AND a zipper.
Many thanks,

What to do when bobbin thread does not feed? by
colinc
I have a toyota machine, the manual shows how to thread the cotton in
the bobbin case and then insert it into the shuttle. It suggests
leaving 4" of thread, but doesn't say what to actullay do with it
susequently. Should this thread be automatically picked up with

Extra 4-hook bra backs by
wurstergirl
Does anyone have any use for some used 4-hook bra backs? I have 6 bras
that have 3.75-inch wide back closures that are destined for the trash.
Since the 4-hook closures are sometimes hard to find, I thought I'd
offer them up for free before tossing the rest of the bras. One white,
five beige. ...

armscye fit question by
Elizabeth Young
I am working on a pattern for a somewhat fitted sleevless sheath dress.
(it is a Burda pattern)
I have run into my usual problem once again and have the following question.
The front of the armscye (if one can use that term for a sleevless
dress) is always too far out toward my shoulder, causing...

tube tuners by

what do you do when the length of material is too long to crunch onto
the tube turner?
and the diameter of the fabric is large enough for the tube but when you
start crunching it down, it stresses the seam and parts?
I using a serger to seam a piece of ribbon for a handle to a purse.

Neck size by
Jack Schmidling
I finished a nice dress shirt only to find that I could not button the
top button.
What is the best way to increase the neck line about an inch?
Can I just make the center front a half inch wide on each side?
This was a practice shirt and I want to get it right before cutting my
hand woven linen.

Hi, I was wondering how I could reuphoster my bar stools and add some
custom logo's to them. I searched the internet and only found one place
that would do it if you sent them a logo and ordered 50 stools!! So I
want to learn how to do it myself. I assume I will use pleather or
vinyl, possible real...
