What are your current quilting projects? by
Pat in Virginia
With school starting, vacations over, relatives gone
back home (hopefully!) ... it is time to rev up the
needles! What about your current project/s?
Right now I am working on the Pink Hug Quilt for my
friend. This is a support for when she has the
mastectomy. Some generous quilters from RCTQ...

You'll never believe this by
CNYstitcher
Was in JoAnns a few days ago just looking, wasting time...testing out
the new glasses (definite difference, but NO headaches!!) and I saw the
most disgusting thing they could ever put in front of a
quilter......pre-pieced quilt blocks!! Yep, the entire block put
together already, about $5 per...

Question for all new Mommies by
Debbi
Does mom live in a two story house? One of the monitors comes in really
handy. Unfortunately, Matthew was unable to cry until he was 10 months old
and had his throat reconstructed. I could use the monitor if he was upstairs
(I actually had a cradle downstairs too for him) so I could hear...

Who raided my stash? by
frood
I purposely did not post that I was going out of town for Thanksgiving, but
someone managed to raid me anyway! I'm missing a large stack of fabric -
some nice new plaids, a couple of non-metallic golds that are just perfect
for a long-term WIP Christmas quilt, some gold lame that jumped into...

New quilter by
Catherine
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I've been wanting to begin quilting as a hobby for as long as I can
remember - since about age 14 when I saw my grandmother's beautiful
handmade quilts, and I'm 37 today.
I don't own a sewing machine and don't know how to use one as I've
never really tried. I never...

Scientific Experiment (long), not OT by
[email protected]
Before someone else says it, yes, I did have too much time on my hands
today!
I am a dedicated pre-washer and have been interested in the threads
about clipping corners to keep fabric from raveling (unraveling?) in the
wash. Today I acquired 22 FQs and decided to make an experiment out of
the...

Scissor preference? by
Polly Esther
All three of my favorite Ginghers are worn and aging. They've been sent
back to Gingher and restored but still have millions of miles on them. The
7" dressmaker shears don't have the points they once had, the serrated edge
ones won't cut just anything from stem to stern and the precious...

Hand sewn or sewing machine? by
sbeep
I am a beginner in quilting and I haven't really got to far in making
one, just have my blocks cut out. Before I start putting my blocks
together which is better on making a quilt, hand sewn or a sewing
machine?

Dr. Quilter
Was born 12 hours ago (Feb. 23rd, 21:20pm). She weighted 8 pounds and
measured 20.5 inches (that is 3.6 kg and 52 cm). Problem was her head,
14" circumference.... her due date was Friday and Dr. decided to induce
her Monday AM since I was so ready but when I called to go in Monday AM
they said...

OT Just for fun- oddball sandwiches by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
We've done this before but not for a while... it's always fun. What's
*your* favorite oddball, strange, weird, gross, etc. combination for a
sandwich?
Mine is wheatberry bread, butter (no darn margarine!), peanut butter and a
layer of those thick, extra crispy potato chips. YUM!!! Enjoying...

What would you do? by
Debbie
Hi all,
Just thought I'd get some opinions on a problem that has come up.
When people find out you make quilts they all want one. Problem is, I don't
mind making relatives one for free, but my MIL has asked me to make her
bosses one each (she has two bosses) for Christmas. She says she will pay...

What is your current project? by
Pat in Virginia
I just read Nana's comment where she said it is time to get back to
quilting. Good idea! So, I'd like a roll call of sorts to find out what
everyone's current project is.
My current work in progress is a quick and easy wall hanging featuring a
panel. I bought it, along with some of the...

I Finished!!! by

My first quilt. Yippee. Happy dancing. Now I can take it to the cross
stitch retreat this weekend and show it to Sue. Yippee. Have been doing
much more cross stitch than quilting this week, but I promised Sue that I
would finish it and bring it. And after today, I can honestly say that...

3rd day into reclaiming quilt room by
cozy
Today was not as eventful as the last 2. But it's part of the trip it
takes to get where I'm going, and there was progress:
Today I went out and did some necessary shopping, which included picking up
two of the 3 deep drawer cabinets and few things, then drug it all home.
I began to lose energy...

What are you working on? by

I am currently between projects. Ok, not exactly "between" as in, "finished
that one, what's next" but, at a point where I can safely start a new
project and still get the others done and keep some semblance of sanity. (no
laughing from the peanut gallery, please)
I haven't yet decided what's...
