AHA! I remembered!! by
~Ann~
Well, back in the 70's, I remember I made a craft project using
scraps.. and this just might be perfect for those tiny tiny triangles
and other shapes which I don't know what to do with but don't want to
throw away.....
here's what I did....I glued those tiny odd shaped leftover fabrics,
using...

Aha! and Wow by
Polly Esther
Inventing the wheel and the internet was nothing. Wait till you read what I
did.
I have a canvas-covered, gridded fake wood sort of board that I use for
pressing quilt blocks (as well as smocking, embroidery and assorted other
good stuff). This pressing tool is June Tailor's Quilter's...

Aha! read your Sharpie by
Polly Esther
There's an earlier discussion about what to use to mark on Press and Seal
and the name Sharpie comes up here and there. My mug of markers holds 4
Sharpies. Two of them say Not for Cloth. The other two aren't talking.
I don't know if that means the ink might bleed or gnaw holes in the
cloth, just...

Ahhhhhh! by
Marcella Peek
A couple of years ago I took a sort of art quilt class. We used
seminole piecing to make rows. The rows had to go together to tell a
story. It was quite the stretch for me.
I finally dug out my mostly completed rows to finish them up. I sewed,
and cut and pressed and worked. Finally I got all...

Aiming problems by
Nell Reynolds
Kate Dicey's tales of why young men in barracks cannot always hit the target
reminded me of something that was related to me as the truth.
Two third grade San Antonio teachers took their students on a field trip to
the local horse race track (one of three in Texas). When time to return to
school...

Aimless musings about personality and quilting by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
I've been sewing since 4 a.m. due to a pain-filled night. It's my
distraction when it gets rough. While mindlessly sewing strips for a
bunch of 4 patches for the Christmas Tennessee Waltz quilts, I got to
thinking about how my basic personality traits strictly dictate what
type of quilts I make. ...

Air Erasable Marking Pen by
teleflora
Didn't someone share a trick awhile back for making that purple ink
reappear? I marked an embroidery block last night, backed it with batting
and started it. Got called away. Now it's half finished and most of the
markings are gone. Can't retrace it because of the batting.
Any thought?

Air travel with sewing machine by
nbhilyard
Can anyone offer advice for taking a sewing machine on an airplane?
Specifically, Betty Featherweight.
Will I get any grief it I take that as a carry-on?
Will I have further problems since I'm going from the U.S. to Canada?
Nann

How do you prepare your sewing machine for air travel?
Please pass on your experiences when you've gone to a quilt show by air
and taken a class.

airplane ears by
MB
This is what I do...(found this explanation on bbc site.).
The most forceful way to unblock your ears is to pinch your nostrils, take
in a mouthful of air and use your cheek and throat muscles to force the air
into the back of your nose, as if you were trying to blow your thumb and
fingers off your...

Airtex batting by
Donna in Idaho[_2_]
I'm on the hunt again for decent batting for our Project Linus quilts. The
batting I ordered from Marshall Dry Goods we did not like that well. I just
talked to Batt Mart and was going to order the Hobbs Poly. The man at Batt
Mart suggested Airtex which is $6 cheaper per roll. He said that...

AKK! Sort of OT... by
Kate Dicey
I just registered to do income tax self-assessment on-line, coz all the
ads tell you it's really quick... What they DON'T tell you is that you
need to allow 4-7 days for the security checks to go through, so it
takes 4-7 days to get the much needed activation pin... GRR! So I go
all through the...

I am (or was) a member of one other newsgroup for I Love Lucy fans. I
hardly ever talk there - even less than here. Anyway, today I happened to
read a post and found out someone was answering a post from ME. I hadn't
posted anything in a long, long, long time. At least it was a regular post
