ceramic paella pan by richard
I found a recipe that requires a paella pan. Since my wife is a potter I was thinking of asking her to make one that would fit the inside our Big Green Egg (ceramic smoker) with handles that go "up" instead of "out". Does anyone know if paella pans must be metal or any drawbacks to a...

Ceramic slip mixture by Tass
I own my own ceramic shop and I recently was given more info on mixes of ceramic slip. I was told that adding barium to the mix makes it whiter. BUT I also know that barium is poisonous. Does this make it dangerous in the dry form when cleaning or firing? Any replies would be helpful. Thanks.

ceramic wine cooler by richard
Are ceramic wine coolers glazed both inside and out? Most of the terra cotta ones I've seen aren't glazed at all. I've recently seen several in ads hat appear to be glazed both inside and out but wonder how they would chill the wine. I'm thinking about glazing only the top 1-2 inches of...

I currently bisque to ^04 but would like to try ^05 to see if the glazes absorb better. Is there any risk in me doing this on a real batch or should I try it with some test stuff first?

Changing a vases colour. by Jay Kaner
Hello Group. I have a beautiful 1950's vase with a classic 50's shape. The shape is fantastic, but the colour of it is, to be honest, a bit yucky. Basically, what I'd like to know is is it possible to change the colour and re-glaze the vase after it has already been finished? Or are...
