Another South of the Border Run by

Hi Everyone
Just got back from my latest south of the border run. Left town on August
26th after attending my friend Linda's surprise birthday party. For those
who don't know her Linda is our membership chair and former newsletter
editor. She is an amazing lady who helps without asking and it...

Another South of the Border Run-Part 2 by
shhdesigns
Woke up in Roseburg and decided to check out where Grandma Dee's Fabric
Quilts Stitchery Inc. was before breakfast. Figured we'd find someplace
close to eat and then go to the shop. Even though it was to open at 10, the
shop door was open at 0915! Better yet, they let us peek in. What...

Ho Ho Ho by
Polly Esther
Just came in the mail yesterday - a gorgeous, gorgeous (excuse me while I
have a minor fit here) collection of Christmas holiday fabric. When I opened
it, the top one looked like velvet. I wondered how I could have been so
careless as to order a velvet. It is not. But it is so beautiful it...

What I've Been Doing... by
MerryStahel
I liked making the table runner so well, that I thought I'd try another one.
This time, I used a pattern from a book I have, TIS THE SEASON by Letiticia
Hutchings. The Poinsettia Elegance tablerunner, to be exact.
Except I did it in fall colors, and didn't do any applique. If you click on...

Karen asked me to let you all know that at the moment, and probably for at
least a few weeks, she'll continue to do the hug list but has to bow out of
posting for a while. She'll miss you, but depression is setting in and she
just hasn't got enough juice to spend it in rctq - please be patient...

OT/Pear 'Honey' Recipe Needed from one of you Texas Cooks by
[email protected]
Help, help! I've lost my MIL's recipe for Pear Honey! It is a soft
fruit jam--very plain, no bells and whistles, pear-tasting, honey-brown,
medium in color, the best pear preserves I've ever tasted.
MIL was a Texas cook, and I've never seen this recipe elsewhere, so I
am hoping one of you Texas...

YARDAGE CALCULATOR, you have to check this one out!!! by
Walt & Cheri Carroll
Wow...I did a quick search and came up with this site. I am amazed. I wish
I would have found this site a while back. It looks like it only comes up
with one yardage for one colour, ie for HST's I threw in a block size and
the quantity and it came up with 1.5 yards. I guess you would buy 3/4...

Bernina 830 by

I am wondering exactly what Vic means by the occasional leather project. Are
we taking fine grade soft leather and two thicknesses or something tougher?
My Bernina is a dear but she wouldn't put up with much in the way of
leather. I've tried a couple of times to take up soft leather belts up by
