SEwing Expo by
zo
Is anyone planning on going to the sewing/quilting expo in Novi,
Michigan? It is sometime in early Sept. at the Novi Expo center. I
went to an expo for scrapbooking in May and it was SOOOOO much better
than I thought. I figured it would just be a bunch of venders selling
stuff that you can buy...

Angler 2 (tm) by Pat Bono by
zo
Has anyone used the Angler 2 designed by Pat Bono. It's a piece of
platic that attaches to your sewingmachine to help with sewing 45
degree angles (hst, qst, etc). If so, does anyone have any tips or
tricks to help an Angler newbie?
Zo.

Strange but true index by
[email protected]
An employee at a software company won a lot of money at a raffle held
by a Boys & Girls club. In gratitude, 10% was earmarked for charity,
but he also created this web page: http://www.semaphorecorp.com/raffles/index.html
Cool.

From frustration to love in 24 hours by
\@ussywillow\ Volfie
Okay, I spent the earlier part of today taking apart my troublesome Hot
Flashes blocks and trying to figure out how to reconstruct them with a
limited fabric supply. Just about the time I was about to throw it all in
and become a couch veg for the day, I decided that I needed to try an...

RANT: I'm never making a quilt for anyone again. by
\Pussywillow\ Volfie
I'm just not. They're not appreciated and I'm not doing it anymore. *I*
don't have a quilt that I made for myself and about half of the ones I've
given as gifts ended up being tossed in a closet* or the owner turns on me
("Surprise! Ya' didn't know I didn't really like ya', did ya'?") or they...

Looking for bird pattern and Nightmare fabric -- any ideas? by
\Pussywillow\ Volfie
I'm looking for a pattern I saw quite a bit a year or so ago: it's a whacky
looking bird with long legs and in each panel of the quilt, the position of
the legs are slightly different. (The body of the bird was sort of
tear-drop shaped, IIRC.) When I saw it, the background fabric was black and
the...

Hot Flashes Question by
\Pussywillow\ Volfie
Okay, question for anyone else who's doing this quilt: is each individual
block supposed to be 15" sq or 15-1/2"? The directions on each page say 15"
*finished* which makes me wonder is she meant when that particular block was
finished or when it was finished into the quilt.
Of course mine never...

What do you like/don't you like about quilting? by
\Pussywillow\ Volfie
I was piecing a block today and it occured to me that there are very
specific parts of building a quilt that I like and very specific parts I
don't like (or don't like as much).
I like looking at patterns and designs and dreaming up quilts.
I like finding, buying, washing, ironing, cutting the...

Anyone else Shop Hopping/Mall Crawling? by
\Pussywillow\ Volfie
Just curious if there were any other shop crawlers out there... Have you
ever won anything in either event? Do you do it each time it comes up? Are
you doing both of them this month? Are you nuts like I am and buy all sorts
of stuff while you're crawling? (Which is the point of the whole...

Rubber stamps for piecing (instead of paper) -- where do you buy them? by
\Pussywillow\ Volfie
I'm looking for the stamps that would be for making pineapple blocks or log
cabin blocks, etc. I thought I might try printing the blocks on muslin
instead of using paper but I don't know where to find the blocks. In one
book, written in 1993, a shop called Quilt Arts had them but I can't...

SNIGDIBBLY....help!! by

In your webshots album there is a photo of your neice (or other
