Question - Embroidery Directions by
Dianne Lewandowski
Is it necessary to "spell out":
"Anchor the thread on the back of the work and . . . "
every time you write instructions? Or, is that a given? Do people who
embroider - no matter their skill - know this is a given?
I realize there might be some instructions which require a detail of
where to...

OT I'm going to be a MIL by
Sally Swindells
DD rang last night to say she's getting married to her partner of 2
years. Yipee I'm going to be a MIL at last (she's 34)
No dates yet though she said the summer, but I think she'll be lucky
to find a vacant slot as early as that, though it depends what size of
wedding she's thinking of.
The...

META: Number of posts on RCTN. by
F.James Cripwell
It is that time of year when I can find out how many posts we had on
RCTN during 2003. I know from past experience that some of you dont think
this is at all interesting, but others do. So here goes, together with
similar figures for previous years.
2003 47,500
2002 54,000
2001 69,600

Vanilla Ice + Britney Spears = Howard Stern by
markritter150
Vanilla Ice was on Howard Stern this week and he spilled the beans
about dating Britney Spears for the past month. Some juicy stuff on
there. I'm not sure if he's just doing it for publicity (he's trying
to get his movie out in high definition).
I've found only one place with the streaming...

A must see... by
Maureen Miller
Please go take a look at this page:
http://www.vintagetextile.com/victorian.htm
Most of the dresses have oodles of hand embroidery on them. What
beautiful work. There's a wedding dress there that I'd even consider
getting married again just to wear....IF I thought I could ever fit into
something...

Needle storage and use by
anne
It's too quiet in here so I'll try to stir things up a bit.
Over time I've amassed a gazillion needles which, sad to say, I don't
return to their original packages. A needle book divided by type
purchased at a seminar has helped me to sort 'em all out. I don't have
'em arranged by size in each...

Surface work wishes by

EXACTLY! I prefer to do the *WHOLE* picture, not just highlighting!
I love to use different flosses, etc. You know how many of you feel
about those "embellished" XS kits? Well, that's how I feel about most
of the...

Alphabetizing Designer names by
Cheryl Isaak
Ok - don't ask, but for some reason I've decided to alphabetize my charts.
(must be the rain!)
So, does one file Liz Turner Diehl under T or under D?
Lizzie Kate? K? L?
Or the one that really has me fuzzled - what order does Artful Impressions,
Art-Stitch and ArtVenture go in?

How much time do you actually stitch? by
lewmew
How much DO you actually stitch and how much time do you spend
thinking about it ;)?
I usually get about an hour a day in - which makes some of those big
projects slow going! Car trips, swim meets and baseball games may add
another hour.
I spend A LOT of time thinking about it and looking at...

Firehouse ? For Vic and Others by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys,
I was "talking" with Joan today and it seems there isn't a whole lot left to
be stitched on the Angel. So, I need to know two things. First off -- Vic --
were you planning on doing the angel's hair in addition to the face, hands &
wings? If so, there is even less of the piece left to be...

seed beads instead of french knots by
Sheri Shanks
I'm currently working on a Thomas Kinkaid picture... Garden of Promise... it
has LOTS of french knots .. which I hate.. which I can't do very well..... I
was not going to do them,... and instead just cross stitch, but I got
looking at it and was wondering why not just use seed beads instead??? ...
