OT - Pet Dreams? by
ellice
Well, thought I'd share this first with the group.
The other night, we go to bed a bit on the late side - like 2 am. And it's
cold in the house at night because we turn the heat down pretty low - so I
will confess that the dog, Puckster, tends to sleep on the foot of the bed
in winter. Yes, I...

How did Tunisian crochet turn silly fashion ? by
[email protected]
That was a very intersting flood of words from Tunisian Crochet -----
to `silly` fashion.
Ps Nobody seemed to mention that Tunisian Crochet = Afgahan Crochet,
the name depends on where you learned to crochet this way.
I am amused when people use word like silly about fashion. There are
so many...

Firehouse Angel Framing Status by
Tia Mary
Hi Guys,
I got my first estimate for framing of the piece this morning --
went with one of my needlework friends so that I had more input :-).
This is an independent framer so there's no coupon, etc. available but
she quoted a discount anyway. I have photos of the piece with the
corner mats and...

The story of somebody who took a XSt pattern and made a quilted
bedspread from it and `lost` in court ,,,, seems a bit strange if
infact she only made it for her personal use .....
Many people use bought patterns in one craft and convert it into embroidered stuff . but here comes another...

Tuesday night, my EGA chapter held its annual rummage sale. Some of us donate
stuff, some of us buy stuff, some of us do both. The tables at this year's sale
overflowed with items from the estate of one of our founding members. I've come
to realize that stitchers need/want large amounts of...

BooHoo ACMoore by
Lucille[_3_]
We were just informed that the new A.C.Moore store that we've been looking
forward to in our area is NOT opening. Apparently they are in some
financial difficulty (who isn't) and they're closing another store in south
Florida and not opening the St. Lucie West location at this time.
That...

OT Perfect comfort food?? by
Dawne Peterson
It is suddenly very cold here, and blowy. A person needs comfort food. So
I made one of mine--bread pudding. I just fished it out of the oven, and it
is golden and puffy. Warm table cream, beaten eggs, maple syrup, pinch of
salt, pour it all over the bread and bake. So simple really--although...

Need good vibes here please by
JAKL
Just got a call from my father.... my mom is in intensive care right now with
severe breathing problems.
We had a family reunion last weekend, and the hotel room they were in was
growing mold. Naturally, Mom has a high sensitivity to molds, and didn't have
her prednisone with her, so she was...

Winken, Blinken & Nod by
[email protected]
Sometime this past week I saw a post on here about the chart "Winken,
Blinken & Nod" but I believe it was buried in another post. Anyhow, I
found a data base that says it was in "Just Cross Stitch" in the
Jan/Feb 1998 issue. Does anyone have it that I could buy it from?? I'd
sooooooooooo appreciate...

OT Fall Suppers by
Dawne Peterson
Our parish fall supper is this Saturday--so I will be "away" from RCTN
mostly for the next few days, baking 6 or 8 pies, making jellied salads,
answering the phone at the church office to handle ticket inquiries, making
various signs, clearing tables........
Anyway, a lady picking up her tickets...

My neighbor just stopped by from the Plant City, FL, strawberry fields
with the most wonderful-smelling container of shiny, ripe
strawberries!!!! They smell so sweet, DH couldn't wait to sample one. It
is hard for diabetics, but a small amount of strawberries he can tolerate!
OK, there are a...

Been Knitting :) by
Karen C - California
I've been in a knitting mood the last couple days.
I made a scarf for myself in Lion Brand Moonlight Mohair (color:Rain
Forest), which is a blend of earthtones and a strand of metallic.
Also started a scarf for my best friend, which I decided to co-opt for
myself halfway through. Patons Rumors...

I think her next book should be about this drama of the firehouse angel fiasco.
Truth is often better than fiction. Who could we kill, though?

A-Z of New York by

Hi,
I've been toying with the idea of designing an alphabet needlepoint
wall-hanging but wanted a theme besides the usual A is for apple.... I
thought about doing an International version with each letter in a foreign
language before deciding it was way too complicated. Then I thought about
doing...

A Test: Political & Social Compass by

A few months back, someone posted a site with a test to see where you
were at on the political scale: right or left.
The following site does this a little better, has some interesting
statements to make about social and economic "visions", past and current
global leaders and where they are in the...

Hmm, I didn't have that much of a problem. ........
