high end contemporary glass vessels by
Alex C
These are the last pieces of our Fragile collection.
They are pretty big and complex pieces with different kind of coldwork
(battuto, inciso, carved).
Obviusly the technique is roll up.
They are the first of this level and we areat the same time proud and
surprised of the final result.

Lurker Update by
Moonraker
Well, it looks like we have a dozen or so lurkers who made their first
post...and there were another 6 or 8 replies whose names I'd seen before
around here. So, maybe we have 20-25 lurkers? There's probably a few who
didn't respond.
So, experiment complete.
As Brady says, "If anyone (and I...

Crackle Glass Cylinder? by
brrian
I'm in need of four crackle glass cylinders, nine inches in diamter by
about 9 1/2 inches tall. They'll be used as lenses for a lighting
project. Even better--I need them in three weeks.
I'm wondering where to start? I guess glass blowers, because if I
understand the process, they'd be blown,...

scoring pressure? by
Will Roberts
I'm fairly new to stained glass, and I am having a problem with scoring
glass due to a herniated disc. When I score many pieces of glass, I can get
numbness in my fingers; and that's something I want to avoid.
Someone told me I could practice with scrap glass on a bathroom scale to get...

Lurker, I suppose by

I was thinking about you folks and signed up on this NG after not
having read any of the postings for some goodly while.
Got a phone call for an estimate on fixing some pieces broken in a
panel, helped the guy find his eyes after they popped out when I told
him how much.
A recent email has me doing...

Melted Lead Lamp Shades? by
Bashley
Howdy - New to the group. Been into stained glass for about 10 years.
Mostly windows, some lampshades and candle holders, etc. Arts and
crafts and prairie style mostly. Anyway - I was wondering if anyone
knew how the commercial stained/leaded glass lampshade makers make
their shades. I mean, it...

Silberschnitt Oval Cutter by
Moonraker
A while back I bought some glass tools on eBay, and in the lot was a
Silberschnitt oval cutter.
Does anybody happen to have a set of instructions on how to set the scales
to make a desired size oval? The cutter does not have any model number,
only "Silberschnitt. Made in Germany".

Dennis: Own up! by

Dennis,
Times up and were all dying to know. Give us your teaching credentials
and your educational background. You've skirted the issue long enough.
You're constantly telling everyone about how much you've taught and how
many....so let's see the facts and get it over with.

Options for frosting glass? by
[email protected]
My husband and I are remodeling a 1948 home. All of the windows are
the old double hung type. We actually like the look of these windows
and are working on getting them functional again (they have all been
painted shut).
I would like to do something to the windows in the bathroom to provide
more...
