quilt stores in SoCal by
Anne Rogers
we're off for a week in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, can anyone recommend
any must see quilt stores? I won't be buying unless I see any major
bargains, so the range of quilts on display is the main thing I'm looking
for.
Cheers
Anne

Another one! & update by
Marigold
Well, Just got the phone call this morning. We have another grandchild on
the way. That will make 5 waiting to be born in 2007. That will put us up to
28 grandchildren!
To keep it on topic...
I did cut out a baby quilt over the last couple of weeks. I actually got to
the point of stitching a few...

weight loss incentive by
Irrational Number
I need to lose 25 lbs. DH just offered me
$10 of fabric per lb. of weight lost. I've
been on the no-buy program. Does this count
as an exception? ;)

Great News- Binding Video by
hmharris
I sent an email to http://quilterstv.com/ asking about Elisa Wilson's
binding video and telling them how much it was enjoyed and it was put back
on! I got a very quick response from Sue Ann Taylor. This lady is so
nice!!!

What type mattress do I have, 54 in by 78 in by
dke3591
Hi,
This seems to be the newsgroup with the most hits on my preliminary
search, but can't really find the answer yet, I tried Google with
little result.
Someone gave me a box spring and mattress to replace a what I thought
was a "full" size set that worn out and I discarded. It says...

How wide of a cut by
~KK in BC~
I want to make a double binding (ie: folded in half and then sewn on and
hand stitched to the backside.
How wide is the norm for cutting this type of binding? Or is there a set
norm or is it simply personal preference?
Just an inquiring mind.
I know what I did, but what would you do?

Happy Dance times 2 by
Maureen Wozniak
I'm just back from the laundromat. With 2 newly cleaned and finished quilts.
One is a crib sized quilt in civil war fabrics. It is destined for David's
nephew and wife. The other is a seven year in the making, king-sized
monster. I was afraid the monster would never be finished. I started...

OT - safe, but iced in by
Karen, Queen of Squishies
We never lost power on Tuesday, or since, but part of town lost power for
about six hours. We got a half inch of ice, and then 8 inches of snow. The
snow is not a problem, it can be moved out of the way, but that ice......
wow. It is so cold that none of it is melting. We aren't even getting...

Remember this solution by
Polly Esther
Here's a new one for you. I noticed that my SM would hang when I was doing
FM. Not constantly, just every few miles, and not a crisis; raising the
needle and giving a little yank would free it up without harm to the
stitches. I asked our Irene if she thought there could be a burr on the...

does anyone else have issues with that first cut into a new length of

I managed to score some awesome quilt fabric from a garage sale last summer,
kind of a batik looking stuff, and just cant seem to get myself to actually
cut into it.
I was thrilled when I found it! This lady was a...

foot woes by

I looked up on the Janome site where local dealers were, one turned out to
be about 10 blocks away, so I headed there and found no sign of said shop,
turns out they moved a while back and whilst it's in distance, it's
definitely a case of special journey required. We rang to see when they were...

HQ or Grace?? PC Quilter or not?? by
[email protected]
I am about to purchase my first frame and I would love to hear from
people who has used them. I am debating between the HQ II with a
Janome 1600, Grace Pro with a J1600, or the Viking MegaQuilter with
the Inspira frame. I wanted to eventually get PC Quilter w/Max Throat
as well and I would not be...

OT - A Cats' Christmas 2 by
jennellh
The new photos of those tree decorating cats are now online.
Here's the link to the antics of Iris and Fern in December 2006.
http://www.fluffytails.ca/christmas2.asp
They bring back memories of some of my own cats who also enjoyed the
tree season.
