Happy Torch Anniversary to Me! by
Dawn >^..^
One year ago today, I was about to burst into tears because I couldn't keep
the glass from sagging on my mandrel. My first little bead was clear, and
looked more like the tears rolling down my face than a bead! I thought I
would just sit down and whip out a few fabulous...

Steel shot tumbling question by
bluemaxx
I was going to post this to the jewelry ng, but the moderator is
gone till Sunday nite and I want to start tumbling NOW... :)
So I finally broke down and bought the steel shot I needed for
tumbling my silver into a shine again. My BIG concern is that some
of the tarnished silver beads that I...

Pet Peeve on topic websites by
roxan
I was doing a search for interesting beadwork and jewelry late night and
every time I get into sites I have trouble just getting to see anything. Is
it me or do people just make difficult sites to see their work? It seems
that the pictures of their work is buried deep inside a link or not easy...

Q about auctioning Ornament collection by
kelly
I'm debating whether to sell off my Ornament Magazine collection (it's a
BIG one). I'd like input (via EMAIL please) ( ) about any
interest there might be. I'd be willing to combine issues (3 per auction)
to specific interests if contacted beforehand, but given the amount of...

AD: Gaffer Beads by

I have had a lot of reservations about the Gaffer glass. I thought it was
too light and wispy. However, I think I found some ways to use the glass
that pleases me. What do you guys think?

Shelf-life of chandelier earrings? (sp?) by
Kyla
Just wanted the opinions of some more seasoned jewelry makers :o) How long
do you think chandelier earrings will be "the thing"? I've put off making
any for the past YEAR, because I figured it's just a fad, no use getting
stuck with a lot of out-of-date stuff when the style of the week changes...

Other GOOD news by
Dr. Sooz
Okay -- I haven't been able to tell you this because
1) I was in Las Vegas without a computer.
2) I've been watching and waiting to really KNOW what to say.
My pain has been reduced to a MANAGEABLE LEVEL. YES! It has!!!
Which means I'm able to do the things I MUST do -- not everything. This...

I did it - and I love it! - Lampwork studio set up questions by
Pam
My lampwork class was this weekend - it was so great! I don't think I can
wait for my husband to put a window and ventilation in the garage (because
it will probably take a year for that to happen), so I'm eyeing my laundry
room - it's got a window that opens, a ventilation fan in the...

lampworking by
bart j mendelson
Wow, I admire all of you who do lampworking. I had a one day course
this weekend and though I made some 25 beads I now know what a
combination of art and science it is. I was tought by Winston Doull,
who invented the Volcano, a kind of very open kiln, gasheatead, no
need for oxygen. I must say it...

Thats the plan. Heal right the first time. I just didnt have a clue what
kind of activities might be acceptable.
Looks like I get to hang out here for a while longer. :-)
And sort laundry after someone else does it.
Its the frustration part thats hard to deal with. I guess I can find other
things...

Oh My God - a mothering crisis by
Marisa Cappetta
Are you making the dress, Kathy? If you allow extra seam allowance (I allow
an extra 3cm), make the dress out of unbleached calico using the largest
stitch length, make all the necessary seam adjustments and/or body length
adjustments (I have to shorten the body on almost all patterns for myself)...
