Making T-shirt quilt by
Marlys in Indiana
Just wondering if anyone has made one and what is the recommended
stitch length with which to sew the seams? My Janome is set at a
default stitch length of 2.2. Is this O.K. or should I set it shorter? I
also realize that shorter means using more thread but that is not an
issue at all. Just...

have accumulated in the past couple of weeks, but you know how that
goes. g Ally is still here (you'll be hearing from both of us just
now), though she's moving out of my house tomorrow morning to go party
on the Strip....

Don/Gen
I just posted a lot more pictures to my website:
http://community.webshots.com/user/Coren920 For those that are wondering
why wallhangings, take a look. I don't hang traditional quilts on my walls.
If anyone has any fabric like the "sand" used on the Nativity quilt(in the
embroidery file) I...

OT (some what) - sergers by
Charlotte Hippen
I am contemplating getting a serger, but don't know anything about them.
Before making a purchase I'd like to know more about them so I can decided
if I truly want one and which one I'd be interested in. Anyone know of some
good web sources that would give me some basic info like the...

Australian Help- Not OT by
recarlos
I can finally, almost, read the computer screen now, and hope to get back to
my quilts very soon. Three BsOM to do yet but I don't trust myself with the
rotary cutter yet. However I would like to ask the Australians present where
they get their patterns.
I finally found someone in America who would...

Featherweight question (another one) by
frood
The bobbin winder thingy on my featherweight doesn't turn. I'm thinking it
might be the belt that needs to be replaced - perhaps there isn't enough
friction to turn the bobbin winder wheel. The wheel is making contact with
the belt, but just not spinning much.
If it's not the belt, what else might...

Quilting Machines by
Truebedoo
I am looking for information on a good quilting machine brand for a
novice quilter. I am willing to spend a good amount of money but I
don't want to break the bank for something that is a hobby. Please make
suggestions. Thanks!

coasters coasters coasters by
Susan Kraterfield
I feel so accomplished. I made little stocking cover coasters for everybody
with their name on them and fabric meant to be "theirs". One of our guild
programs handed out a kit with everything for a "holiday" coaster and I
actually did it.
I made 9!!
People really liked them. They realized that...

batik hot air balloons? by

Sometime last year I thought I saw a batik fabric with hot air balloons
on it. I wish I had bought some then, but now want it for a quilt. I
can't find it by googling it, but I saw this one today on Big Horn's
site, and it's called "blue...

Jungle wallhanging photos to see by
marbles_2
I finally got photos back for my Jungle Songs wallhanging I made for my
sister that was really wild. (She is more sedate and practical but I
was too bored making something traditional for her Christmas present.
She loved it!!) I got the pattern idea from a Quilters Newsletter
Magazine in my big...

The annual reckoning by
Nann Hilyard
A couple of you have asked when I'd post my
annual bought/used totals. I have been hesitant
because I'm, well, embarrassed.
From November 15, 2004, until the end of May, 2005,
I was very, very, very good about not buying fabric
(about 4 yards, all legal). Then while en route to the
quilt shop to...

Scotland's Cheering Squad by
R. E. Wicker
Thanks so much to the Scotland's Cheering Squad. I just have room
enough for this beautiful bundle of patriotic materials to finish my
quilting project. I am better able now to stand a bit longer to cut
and sew. I know I have taken much time on this but I am dividing my
strength between writing...
