Quilt stores in Europe by
Joanne Passmore
A good friend has just phoned to tell me of her trip in June to Vienna,
Prague, Budapest, Krakow, Warsaw & Berlin (not necessarily in that order!)
She is a master quilter, designs & sells her own patterns and works in our
local QS. Since many of you are from around the world, I said I would...

Nimble thimble? by
hfw
I've been using the leather Nimble Thimble and have been pretty happy with
it. But I've got tiny fingers and even the smallest is a bit too large. Does
anyone have any suggestions for how to adjust it? I was thinking of trying
to shrink it in hot water, but concerned that it might stretch out...

Nomination -- sort of OT, maybe by
Anne
I hereby nominate georg as Official Sheriff and Troll Herder of RCTQ.
She has demonstrated great ability to say, "**** off, bub!" to our
numerous latest trolls and keeps the streets clean of riff-raff. Yay,
georg! insert two-fingers-in-the-mouth-whistle here
Do I hear a second?

OT - tonight's story by
Queen of Squishies
DH has landed in ICU. He is currently taking in his 4th pint of blood in 2
days. He is in A-fib, for those of you who know what that means. This
swelling is causing numbness, and a frozen shoulder. There will be an OT
consult on that tonight. And he is off all blood thinner. He'll be in...

First quilt for 2005 by
maryd
is completed. And it came entirely from my stash including the batting. I
took left over pieces and joined them for this quilt.

Hand quilting patterns by
guzzy
Hi, I have not written before. You can call me Anne (as Mistianne is a
little confusing for most people). I am a hand quilter and a
machine/hand peicer for about the last eight years, made lots of quilt
and am definitely addicted. I have two girls, a 2 1/2 year old and a
four year old, both who...

forgot the * by
Brian Christiansen
In my previous message, I put in an asterick, but I forgot to put in the
footnote that it refers to, so here it is:
* A few years ago, a woman in the karate class I was taking at the time got
pregnant. I made a baby quilt for her that I called the "karate quilt". It
was a simple fence rail with...

OT How to clean dirty mouse balls by
AliceW
Ok, as a public service, I am providing the instructions for cleaning these
little buggers. This comes from the IBM folks (so THEY say). Here is the
link to the instructions. Follow them to the letter. You'll thank me later.

A little prayer request: Mostly OT by
Kate Dicey
Some of you have heard this already, but for the rest, a few good
thoughts for the second half of the week would not go amiss...
Thursday I have a breast clinic appointment to have a lump investigated.
Other than scans I dunno what they'll want to do. I sure hope they
know where the local...

Cutting borders from lengthwise grain? by
Adella
Do you always cut your borders from the lengthwise grain? I know that's
what the books say and I understand the rationale.
But....I don't have enough fabric to cut the borders for my baby quilt
along the lengthwise grain.
So I'm cutting them crosswise.
Will I go to quilt jail? Will my borders be...

Hug idea by
JS
Hi, everyone.
I have finished the hug I began this summer for JustPeg. I have not been
able to get in touch with her since it has been completed, and I am thinking
that perhaps it is time to pass it along to someone else who could use it.
Not that I don't love looking at it in my sewing room, but...

Stack-n-Slash instructions needed by
Violet Volfie
Ask Jeeves and I have been searching the 'net for about 90 minutes trying to
find a working link to some Stack-n-Slash instructions. I give up. Does
anyone know where to find a page of instructions? I know it's easy to do
and I could probably wing it and have it work out right, but I want to...
