Short Long Stitch & scanning trouble by
bungadora
Well after much putzing around, my first short-long stitch piece is
up. The stitching is less than ideal, but I thought I'd put it up.
Even though I'm not happy with this piece, now I want to do more! I
think the next one will be with DMC and linen though. A bit easier to
manage for old Stumble...

Threads seem Different - Using different plies by
ellice
Hi all,
So, do to the gorgeousness of Donna's Poseidon, and my DH really thinking it
is cool, I'm also doing it. Seems Donna and I are having some weird shared
taste - it's the 2nd of 3 of the same pieces we're doing/have done.
Anyhow - mine is on "loch" hand-dye from Picture this plus, which...

It's been a while by
Meredith
Hi everybody,
It's been a couple of years since I've posted here, and my life has gone
completely topsy-turvy since then. My newsgroup provider disappeared, and I
never got around to finding a new one, but I didn't really have time, what
with school, internship, and a new relationship. I'm...

OFF TOPIC - does anyone remember "doodle art posters" by
Cheryl Isaak
These were large posters that were meant to be colored in by older kids
with fine markers or colored pencils? The brand was "DoodleArt" (I think)
but danged if I can find anything more complicated than "velvet art" posters
(aka fuzzy art).
I had several as a kid and of course they are long gone,...

Extra fabric for framing by
Allura
So, how much fabric to people REALLY leave on the sides of their
project for framing/finishing? I usually go for 5", but I finally
decided to try a scroll frame, and it's not quite big enough. I'm
working on Mirabila's The Dreamer at 28ct, and the stitching width is
about 12". My frame's 20"....

Stitch Question by
Mag
I'm working on a pattern that calls for "Alternating Back Stitch".
The diagram and stitch directions are clear but, I am wondering
why use this stitch? Does it serve a purpose or accomplish something
that regular back stitch does not?
Just wondering

Today's report by
Karen C in California
(Written at 9 AM, but I can't get online to send it! The static on the
phone line is so dreadful I could barely hear Mom, so no wonder AOL
can't "hear" through it to connect!)
We are having heavy rain with winds gusting up to 66 MPH. Part of the
neighbor's tree is on my roof. For now, I...

Ooops by
Karen C - California
Mommy is going to kill me.
She had her pencil 6 inches away from her stitching, but then I started
wrestling with my sister and we not only got the two closer than they
were, but we got pencil all over her stitching. Eraser just smears the
grey around the fabric and doesn't do anything on the...

Completed project by

Believe it or not a post about embroidery :)
I just finished my "slip" of a red-winged blackbird. It is to be appliqued
onto a National Tapestry being created by the American Embroiderer's Guild.
It will consist of 5 large panels representing the various areas across the
country. No man-made...

Chart suggestions please.... by
Aussie Girl
I have recently lost a baby to a cord accident in utero. I was wondering if
anybody could recommend a chart or a sampler design etc that I could use as
a tribute to my baby.
I will know what I'm looking for when I see it, but I would really like
something that is significant to the fact that he...

Life Imitates Art...... by
[email protected]
I suddenly realized how the colors of my newly renovated house & new
additions remind me of what I wear! Also recall some interior designer
saying to look into one's closet to help decide what colors to choose
to paint one's home.
We signed the building contract on my birthday in early April then...
