Brother Sewing Machine by
teleflora
My best friend brought her sewing machine over to me last night to see if I
could do anything with it. Her boyfriend bought it for her last Christmas
so she has had it for a little over a year. It is a Brother XL6562. I think
he got it at WalMart. sigh I don't know why he didn't ask me first. ...

I hope all our RCTQ members are high and dry. The Northeast has certainly
had some bad flooding. Have any of you seen it first hand?

Finished a crazy quilt piece by
Lisa Caryl
Hi everyone,
Doing a bit of a happy dance here as I finished my moon box! I have pictures
of how it looks with the trim around the box, as well as a side view so you
can see the "legs" I added to it. It was fun to come up with unusual
materials for those :-). This is the piece that has Dianna's...

OT slow newsreader.. can anyone help? by
Allison
For the past couple of months my newsreader has been much slower than
normal. It can take up to 10 seconds to load a message now whereas
before it was almost instantaneous. And the few times I've tried to
post to the newsgroup I thought it was going to time out.
I'm presently using the...

Sewing Room Moved!! by
Kate G.
from the basement to the 2nd floor!
When we moved here from MN last summer -- set up temporary sewing quarters
in our unfinished basement. It has worked well and I have **stolen** more
room than I was supposed to! The extra space was nice -- but the exposed
ceilings and concrete walls were a...

Finishing UFO and/or Choosing Project (LONG) by
Pat in Virginia
In my HD thread, someone (She maybe) asked about how my guild's
UFO challenge works. In the Stuck thread, several posters ask
about how to choose a project and move on. I think a description
of the UFO challenge will answer that issue. Here goes.
The Organizers (L&N) set the 'rules' as follows....

Scrap Question by
Not A Clue!!
Why can't I make a scrap quilt with all my bits and pieces without using a
pattern? I have searched the net far and wide and according to all I see and
read I must use a pattern even to make something with scraps of fabrics? I
guess what I want to know is, how would I sew together all odd sizes...

Back from the Fair -- OT by

Fair went very well. I entered 7 quilts and got 4 ribbons. Mom and I had a
joint quilt that won a blue!
Finished packing up Mom's house and got her moved to Paducah. All of this
between Wednesday and Sunday. I feel like balloon with the air let out, but
happy that things went as well as they...

OT - Oatmeal for baths by

Poor little Giles is covered in hives. She is itchy all over. I know oatmeal
baths are soothing, and I can buy some Aveeno bath stuff, but I have oats in
my cupboard right now and was wondering if I could use those? Do I need to
put them in a muslin bag? Would a paper coffee filter work if I staple...

Who does Blocks of the Month? by
Lynne Van
Some of you have mentioned these from time to time, and I've
seen some of the patterns, which look amazing.
Who here does these regularly? What is your opinion on them?
Do you find them expensive?
Just wonderin',

will be able to meet up with Mickie) so I went shopping today. I bought the

Sewing Machine for Child? by
Nurse Ratched
My lovely little not-quite-10-year-old niece is just about ready for her first
sewing machine. She was here this past weekend and sewed with me. She has
great motor skills and is very intuitive about how things work and connecting
concepts. Her great aunt has offered to foot the bill if I will...

Need a fine line glue technique by
MaleQuilter
I just completed assembling tumbling blocks of various sizes for my
first quilt. I am just now checking out how to turn under the raw
edges 3/16" in preparation to machine applique the blocks to my base
fabric.
My wife suggested that I use her glue sticks to tack the turned under
edges. I tried...
