I was actually excited to be in the presence of "celebrity" and was probably a bit shell shocked without even realizing it. I shopped, I spent too much money, I chatted briefly with Jinny...

Help with bleeding on completed quilt by BarbaraMN
Does anyone have a solution for a bleeding area on a completed quilt? I tried a little Shout and water rinse but that's not doing it. I'd appreciate any and all solutions that have worked for you. Thanks so much.

OT - The thimble (joke) by LN \(remove NOSPAM\)
One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, "My dear child, why are you crying?" The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water and that she needed it to help her husband...

stippling by Dixie Sugar
I am trying to learn to stipple and have a problem. Some of the time my stitching looks ok but other times the backside of my fabric has big wads of thread. What am I doing wrong? I tried adjusting the tension and also the speed of my sewing. Maybe I'm not moving the fabric correctly?? ...

Hearts & Flowers Quilt found a new home by SNIGDIBBLY
I got a letter from Father Mike yesterday. Seems the sound system contractors cheated the church out of a lot of money and left the sound system in our new church undone. The church needs $68K to complete the sound systems so people can hear mass. I have donated my Hearts and Flowers quilt to be...

Positive thoughts and Good Luck Request by Charlotte Hippen
I could use some positive thoughts, and lots of good luck right now. Shortly after DH and I got married we bought a mobile home. Worked well for a young couple finishing college. Now we have a very energetic 3 year old and a new baby so we really need more space. We really want to move out into...

OT April Fool report by frood
So far, several pranks have been played, although not all have been discovered. Late last night, I set DD#1's clock forward by 30 minutes. She hasn't figured that out yet, she just thought she was staying ahead of schedule today. I switched the chairs around the dining table - I rotated them...

Seminars & Such by Mardi
I'm so excited. I just got my Empty Spools seminar information for 2005. Boy, what a list of teachers. I considered Freddy Moran, Judy Mathieson, Ruth McDowell and even Caryl Bryer Fallert. But, I ended up choosing Jane Sassaman. I love her style and her fabrics. It sounds like it's going to...

Quilt Shop Near I-Falls, MN by Megan
I will be at International Falls, MN next week (July 20ish) and vaguely remember hearing about a quilt shop near there. It is supposedly a very popular place, and it's worth the time to drive there. I don't know how far from I-Falls it is, but apparently it's not too far. This isn't much info to...

I searched the archives but could not find a good answer for this question: My baby-sized quilt top is flannel, but I want to back it in regular cotton. Has anyone had success with that before? Also, I was prepared to use polyester batting, but now I'm worried about bearding. I plan to machine...
