Wanted - glass kiln - UK by
Adrian Brentnall
HI All
Just wondered if anybody in the UK has a 'spare' kiln (suitable for a
beginner in slumping / fusing etc) - that they want to get rid of
.....?
I was hoping for something with a digital controller - but pretty much
anything considered - can't really afford a new kiln at the...

wall sconce question by
ariadne
Hello,
I'm currently gathering ideas for a bid of building several stained glass
wall sconces. Is there a source for the guts and backing of such a lamp
where I could simply attach my own front panel or would it be better to
purchase some from my local hardware shop and remove their panel and...

I won a Nortel torch on eBay and received a Wale torch, it looks fine but

Thanks!

Waaaaah! :-( by
suzilem
I just had my first chunk-o-glass fracture in my kiln. :-( I was slumping
a 3.5"x3.5" shallow dish and it cracked right down the middle and flung its
two halves to opposite sides of my kiln (granted, since the cavity is only
8"x8" they didn't fling far). What's REALLY annoying is this...

Virus/Trojans by
Moonraker
One of the glass vendors must be infected with the latest virus/trojan.
I'm getting loads of emails into one of my business email accounts that only
gets used for corresponding with vendors.
Be careful of any emails that have an attachment(s) that are ~31KB in size.

Rick Wilton
I recently recieved a virus stating it was from Microsoft.
(Not true) I noticed that a number of people from this newgroup were also
listed as recipients. Just a heads up to those who may not have their virus
software updated

Vintage glass hurricane lamp: How to cover transferware? by
hrn111
I have a beautiful hurricane lamp that has horrible sunflowers on it.
It is a transferware type of technique, I don't believe it is
hand-painted. Is there anyway I can cover the sunflowers with
something else? Perhaps another transfer that would cover the
sunflowers? If so, when the light is on,...

Greetings,
I am retiring from the stained glass business due to age and
health reasons. I am looking to sell my collection of vintage Chicago
Art glass. I worked for their studio for years and was often paid in
glass instead of money. When they went out of business about 1987 I
bought all I...
